I received a threatening call from this company today, and then they hung up on me, they would not provide me with their address to verify whether or not this was a legitimate business, I then called bakc and was screamed at by the MANAGER whose name is Paul Heckum or so he says, he continued to threaten me with regards to a bill that was paid and never late, this business sounds like a scam if you ask me :evil: Be careful to anyone who comes in contact with them because there is no reasoning with them.

Which company called you? Could you please explain your story a bit more, so that forum members can suggest suitable remedies?

Let me tell you that collection agencies cannot harass you nor can they use abusive words. You can file complaint against them with FTC, BBB and AG's office.

BTW, are you sure that your account was paid off? You can confirm the status of your account with the original creditor.

What company/business are you talking about? Do you still have your paperwork as proof that the debt was paid? if so, then you have nothing to worry about. If you don't have the address of where to reach this business at, post the name of it here and someone can probably help you find their address. Then send them a certified return receipt letter to explain that this debt was paid in full three years ago. If you have any proof to back that up, copy it and attach it to your letter for them to see. Also, I was add in a cease and desist to them so that they will stop all contact. I know you're upset right now but it will all come out in the wash :D
