State Websites to see if Payday loans are licensed

I am also in Texas. What exactly does it mean if the business is not licensed? I have 8 loans and am working with Town and Country. I cannot find any of these lenders at that site.

It means that, if Texas law requires that all payday lenders even those from out of state or internet.. be licensed, they loaned you the money illegally. I woudl file a complaint against each and every one of them.

I am assuming that you put the payday loan company name in the DBA Operating Name. I did the ones that I have loans with and none of them came up.

It doesn't surprise me if these are online payday lenders that they are not licensed. Check out the consumer law website that Clay provided in the walk in payday loan thread. It has laws pertaining to each state. If you need more information, feel free to pm. I have printed off each state for my own verification purposes.

SHbear, I agree with Mishele, and if you have in anyway been harassed by these lenders, I would file a complaint with the state. The link I sent has a tab for complaints.

I got into it with Cashnet today, because they still wont' send me a statement showing I'm paid in full.
