i also have a loan out with sjm marketing and have no way to pay them....what do i do??? my bank account was closed for fraud and now im afraid they will report to my credit....

Hi Misty, welcome to the forum!!! I totally understand the situation that you're in. Although I have never had a pay day loan, I have had bills that I haven't been able to pay. They went into charge off mode on my credit report and it got real messy! I am paying them off now but the best I can hope to get is a 'paid charge off' when I'm done. But thats good considering I made a financial train wreck of things.
Since you are dealing with a pay day loan, I think, from my opinion, you will have to call SJM and see if they will work with you. See if they can reduce your payment due to the circumstances. Just tell them your situation and see if they will work with you. They may not but you won't know if you don't talk to them. And have you considered talking to the councilers and debt consolidation people here? Maybe they can help you find a payment that is suitable for both you and SJM. I would talk to the people here and see if consolidation can help you, if not, then you'll need to call SJM.
If anyone can think of any better advice to offer, please jump in here! But this is what I would do if I were in your shoes. You can't ignore them, that would make things worse for you, especially once they find your bank account has been closed. They will feel that you are trying to dodge them. Do you have other debts that you are struggling with as well? If so, talk to the debt consolidation folks here, I believe they can help you. I haven't used the consolidation here myself, but I know alot of people that have and it has helped them termendously. keep us posted! shirley

Misty,

If this is an online payday lender, I seriously doubt they will report anything on your major credit reports. They might report it on your Teletrack report, which is used to approve you for the payday loan in the first place. You can always get a free teletrack report by visiting their website. Also, do you have the phone number for SJM? I would give them a call and see if you can't make payment arrangements with them. If you have other payday loans, you might want to consider debt consolidation. If you register yourself with the forum, then I can PM you the information of the one that I'm using. A lot of us here can relate to your situation. It has been beneficial to a lot of us by being members of the forum and sharing our experiences with each other. Registration is simple and free. I'm not sure what to tell you about your bank situation. Did someone try to get your account numbers and use them? I'm sure someone could offer better advice than me on that situation. Don't let the payday loan company intimidate you either. Hold your ground and explain your situation.

Maria,
This site is not for SJM Marketing. This is a site to get help with debt problems and you posted in a forum for people who are dealing with these companies. You should contact them at 1-866-722-2770. If you get a message press 0 and you should be directed to an operator. If you are needing help you should also register with this site, it has been very helpful to my situation.

I had a loan with them and took it out last Aug because I was having some difficulties. They deducted 90.00 every two week out of my bank until June first because I never had anyway to reach them to do a pay off. I had to close my account, due to other issues and they now tell me that I owe 678.00 on a 300.00 loan that I already paid 2000.00 back on. Any advise please help.

I am in Illinois, and it is the Accounts Recievable Technologies. I appreciate any help you can give me. I have been trying hard on my own to clean up my credit to by a home eventually and it seems like everytime I turn around it's something else. But I did this one myself.

Ok, Shawna, I don't care what state you live in. $2000 for a $300 loan is way more than anyone should have to pay. I am not really up on the collection agencies so I am bumping this up so someone that is will see it and give some more advice. I will say though that you do not owe them any more money if you have truly paid back $2000 already!!!

Okay the lady called me at work the other day and said i owed 678.00 on a 300 loan when I have paid 90 every two weeks since june 1st. That equals out to more than 2000. She said I took the loan out in July of 06 and hadn't paid since June 06 I tried to tell her that her dates didn't even line up but she said she needs reciepts. the only receits I have is bank statements because they were ACH. I will send certified mail with copy's of bank statements after I white out every thing but their line item.
