Can one spouse consolidate and the other not?
My husband is suffering from the loss of his business. It was sole proprietorship - he is personally responsible for a lot of credit card debt and several outstanding bills related to the business.
We are trying to avoid bankruptcy and I would like to keep my credit intact.
Thanks,,

2kid2cat is right. Your husband can consolidate the credit cards and other bills that are under his name. If he wishes to consolidate such debts that are jointly owned by you two, perhaps you have to contact your creditor first and get your name removed. By doing so, you can avoid these accounts to be listed in your credit report in future.

Feel free to ask your queries in forums, if you have any.
