I have a tip to share that has worked for me very well in the past. When it comes to staying out of debt I give myself at least 24 hours to think about it before I buy it. Always! Half the time I am glad I did.

If you have any to add please feel free here.

Thats a very good point Ashley----impulse is one of a debtors worst problems! gots to have it and gots to have it now. lol Whereas, you're right---if you will go away and think about it, for at least 24 hours, you might find it was something you really didn't need or would probably never use. How many times have we HAD to have something, I mean we had to have it bad, and get it home and it just sits there in the corner collecting dust. Because it turned out not to be that big of a deal after all? But at the time, we had to have it. shirley

Let me tell you that I always follow this. Thanks Ashley for sharing this idea.

Shirley, you are right. If we stop by awhile and think deeply, not only we understand that this is not the item we are looking for, we can figure out some cheaper solutions as well. And if you really need to buy something, do some research; see where you can get some discounts and so on. Shop smart and stay away from debts.
