These are attempts to collect on a debt, pure and simple. Credit card, loans, etc. They have to tip-toe around the FDCPA so they say things that make them sound like lawyers, or "legal processing firms" to instill a sense of urgency in you and make you call them back. They love trying to make you pay a balance in full by giving you a deadline before your "their clients pursue this claim in court". Basically lies. Which is why i got out of this business. There's really nothing that they can do to you, its up to the company that you have not paid to prosecute you. Then you have something to worry about.

Really though, you should contact the company you owe the debt to and work something out with them, IF they will allow it, as the collections agencies will make money if you pay through them.

Also I will add, a majority of these companies are in Florida. Florida has laws against recording telephone conversations unless both parties are "aware" of the recording. A bill collector absolutely does not want to be recorded, as many do push the limits of the FDCPA and sadly many of them break the law. You may need to check the laws of your state and compare them to Florida law, as even lawyers aren't 100% sure which state's laws are to be followed if you live in another state besides Florida.

But in closing people... pay off your bills. Get debt free at any cost. Debt = slavery

I also received phone calls from these people. They have called my house probably 25 times in the last 3 months. They aren't even calling for me or anyone who is in my household. They are trying to reach a family member of mine who I don't even have contact with. I have repeatedly asked them not to call my house, but they continue to do so. Somehow they got my cell phone number & they also knew how I was related to the person who they are trying to reach. (creepy if you ask me!) I just filed a complaint with the Attorney General's office of NC & the BBB. Apparently this is not the first time the Attorney General's office has received these complaints, the lady I spoke with said they were in the process of an investigation with Kellar King & Associates. Let's just hope this matter gets resolved, so don't stop filing complaints and standing up for your rights as an American citizen!!!

They keep calling my home with the same threat against my son that does not live here at home anymore.. Although the cc company did send a settlement letter, which to me is good enough. THis anoying way is so the cc companies can get their money. They can call all they wan't, thanks to the phone company and caller id, I don't plan on giving them the time of day.

I got a call like that saying that i need to pay them $688.98
within 24hrs or legall actions will be taken in i dont give them the money, they said there an attorneys office called kellar king and associates her name was Colet Rose and she said i need to call her back asap at 1-904-672-1815. so what should i do plz help...

use the addresses above and send a DV(debt validation)letter to them.send it certified mail return receipt.do not call her back as this is a major scam.this colet rose broke the law with that call.so send DV letters,and do not call this person back.if they persist file AG,and FTC complaints against this bottomfeeder,and colet rose.

hahaha... i just called from ammie jarvis phone number 904-672-1810 ext 2239... she said they are filing legal action against me for not paying a $300 credit card bill... i advised here in PA. there is no lawsuit for that... i also advised her that if there was a date i would get a subopena and the sheriff would have to deliver it and i would need to sign for it she hung up on me.... they are a collection company that is it.. they buy debt for pennies on the dollar and try to collect in full... they r not lawyers.... it is all a bunch of BS...

Okay I was all freaked out when I got this phone call today (503-928-8178 ext. 2239). The lady (Anne Jarvous) that called me said that there was formal claim against me in Portland, OR with their company Keller, King and Associates. They said I needed to call immediately to resolve this matter, also that a decision would be made for me if I did not return the phone call by the next day. When I got home I googled the name Keller, King and Associates and all that came up was this blog... weird. I will now aasume that is company is using any means to collect on a debt, whether it is legal or not. I thought there were laws against false representation for credit card collectors.???...Okay well word to the wise, I settled all my debt without the help of a credit consolidation company and/or a lawyer. If you go to the government's website about credit care debt it tells you how to resolve your debt by yourself. Usually you can settle for 40%-60% of what you actually owe, you just have to play hard-ball and be willing to compromise. Always start out with a low-ball number your able to pay and negotiate from there. But be prepared to pay that day, also it's best to call this debt recovery companies at the end of the month. Usually they are more willing to make a deal so their numbers look good for that month and it doesn't roll over to the next. Always request a fax or letter of the settled amount before you hang-up! If the person you first talk can't or won't neogiate, ask to speak to a supervisor. Good luck and I hope these people "Keller, King and Associates" get busted for false representation of a collection agency!!! Jerks!

Kellar king and assoc is a hole in the wall.. They were bout out by HP Captial and Kellar King and Assoc reopened in Jacksinville in the Arlington area.... They are bill collectors that do not use the "mini Maranda" and they can not sue you at all..Theres is not pending law suit and AIS supplys them there accounts...

Your accounts you have are already charged off and KKA can do nothing. There is no pending law suit or complaint or filing in your county or state..If there is enough complaints to the BB and ATY GENERAL they will be investigated and shut down.. There are two owners of this Company..

RECORD YOUR PHONE CALLS... THATS THE ONLY WAY YOU CAN SHOW EVIDENCE OF THEM BREAKING THE LAW.. GET A ATY AND THEY WILL PAY FOR BREAKING THE LAW AND YOU LEGAL BILLS.

i got a call from keller and associates today. i was advised there is a "case" pending and i needed to pay the $600 i owe hsbc........ i requested correspondence from them in wiriting and the guy started yelling saying "there's no time for that! i can fax or e-mail you but we need to take care of this today!!" you know when you have a case against you when you are served by the sheriff at your front door. they are not bill collectors, they call themselves "mediators". i have a feeling they're connected with phillips, everett and jones in cheektowaga, ny (near niagara/canada). another scam company. i filed a complaint against them in ny with the OAG because they call me constantly. they are con artists who buy chrgd off accounts, call the old acct. holders and try to collect only to pocket the money. what ever happened to privacy!? i know this because i called hsbc and they gave me the name of the agency who purchased the debt. Both of these companies said they were representing hsbc - lies. DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY FINANCIAL INFORMATION.

please do not let these scumbags get away with this! what they are doing is illegal! call your state's attorney general office and request a complaint form. i know we are all so busy anymore but 1 letter from each victim adds up to strength in numbers. let's send them the msg to leave us alone! i want to see them on a future episode of american greed or dateline :-)

They are back with a new number 904-672-1810. Can't google them. My brother in law got the phone call looking for my dad. I called them back ended up having to conference my dad in because they wouldn't speak to me. The bogus information they had was a joke. They are rude, obnoxious - you name it. They really try to scare people.

I just received the same call as most from David Taylor at Keller, King and associates phone # 904-672-1817 ext 2222. He said that a formal aggrement was made in my behalf and that I was to call back so I was not "blind sided" by this. After reading the comments on here I have come to the conclusion this is a scam and not to worry. Is this true? Please someone tell me so I can relax. Thank you

I recieved a call from this "Kellar King & Associates" place today. I called back, and they gave me the info they had. The kicker is, the credit card they were trying to get money from was NOT NOT NOT NOT in my name, but my husbands. After questioning this & the legality of their business, they gave me the website "sunbiz.org". I checked out that website, and hmm, they seem to be legit. Then I make my way over to the BBB website, and guess what...NO SUCH COMPANY is listed...hmm fishy. I WILL NOT GIVE THEM A DIME. Let them take me to court.

My brother informed me that someone called him in Ohio looking for me and he gave them my number. They called me twice with 2 different numbers. I don't have a voice mail set on my phone , so it just calls . So any number I don't recognize ,I don't answer. My brother asked me if I called them back , and I said not yet. So I became curious and googled the numbers , hence the blogs about these people and their illegal actions. I text my brother about these blogs about this company and told him to tell them if they call him again , that he will report them and what they are doing is illegal. They will not be hearing from me. I have had people in the past try to call me and threaten me about not paying my debt, my debt has been gone or charged off for years.These bloodsuckers will not send you any info on your debt and how much you owe, so why on earth would anyone pay them without proof?

Legal mediation is out of business or at least they are supposed to be. They are inactive in FL.

KELLAR, KING & ASSOCIATES, INC. is active though. It says the type of business is any and all lawful purposes. They are not an attorney, I searched all the names and nothing comes up. They cannot sue you, they would need an attorney to do that.

Their threats are probably false. If you have never been contacted by them, send them a DV letter CM RRR. You can search the business name here and get their mailing address: Search KELLAR, KING & ASSOCIATES, INC.

I have received at least 3 calls from an outfit called legal Action recovery and special investigator Noel Lucas. She states that I must call her back and use blah blah reference number as a complaint has been filed against me and unless I call her back they will take me to court and send the court order to my place of employment ( which there is none) or my home. A. I do not owe anyone. B. I do not respond to threats. C. What can I do to get rid of these people. By the way one can tell she is reading from a script. She cannot even come close to pronouncing my name correctly.

Call them to get the basic details of the debt. Do not admit to it, do not answer any questions. If they ask you anything about the debt answer with a "I do not recall". Also find out if your state is a two party state or one party state IE - see if you can record the conversation without her knowing. If you are a Two party state then at the beginning of the call say, "I am recording this conversation for my protection. If you do not wish to be recorded, then hang up now."

You want to get the details like the exact name and address of their company, who the original creditor is, what the amount owed is, the date of default and any account numbers associated with this account. At the end of the call you also might want to ask her exactly type of "special investigator" she is and see what she says.

The you send them a debt validation letter asking for contractual proof that you owe them anything and how they came up with the amount they say you owe. You want to see the last few statements to see if what they say you owe matched up with what those statements say was the last balance owed. If they differ you want to see a breakdown of how they came up with the new figure and a contract or agreement signed by you allowing for any fees and/or interest.

Most of you will probably hate this, but I worked for kellar king and associates....for about 2 and 1/2 weeks.....THEY ARE NOT a "legal company" although they try to make it seem like they are...I mean think of the name...I got yelled at because I was not mean enough and I refused to break the law....I know what the law is and I refuse to break it...and I have more morals than everyone in that place. There is maybe about 10 collectors in that office. It is a company that is just starting out, I'm not sure what the story was behind that, but whatever. IF ANYONE gets a call from them, record everything that they say...because they break the law on a daily basis well an hourly basis.......my interview when I walked in...he said to me...we work in the GRAY area of the FDCPA...there is no gray area...its black and white...its the law. They do not own the debt, they ARE A COLLECTION agency out of Jacksonville FL, they do not PROCESS CLAIMS they are not going to recommend that the client sue you because they dont...however if the client feels that you are suit worthy they can and probably will......they dont have claims, they have a debt that they are calling about, the debt is legit and does really exist...I have worked in collections for 2 years now, and so over it...I was working there to get myself through school, but the thing about collections...you think they dont care about you? they dont care about their employees, they dont care if your mother is dying, if you yourself are sick, like really sick...their phone #s are different they have alot of different #s....they do work on a dialer system but most of the time they are skip tracing looking up your neighbors, your relatives, and any phone # that you had ever been attached to....they are very good about not third party disclousre which is the biggest law that is broken, but they do say to your relatives "I have a legal matter in my office that I need to discuss" which is against the law....why?? Im glad you asked...because ITS NOT A LEGAL MATTER!!!!! they are not a law firm, not even close...so please if you get a call...record it...I myself was fed up with being put down because I was not mean, I didnt break the law, and I allowed payments....They dont have to give you a payment arrangment.....all you have to do is ask who owns the debt now and call them....its owned by AIS or lakeshore....and there is a few others that own different debts....google them get their phone #s and deal with them...i do not advise you to deal with them if you dont have to......

I got a call telling me I was a trusted point of contact for some person i don't even know, to tell them to call David Stern at 904-672-1819. Send them a total cease & desist letter, strongly worded. tell them you do not know the person they are calling about and that you will not tolerate rude and unprofessional behavior from them. Demand that they never contact you again or you will see them in court.

Everyone- Do not send these people any money and do not give them any information. This is a scam. I know this because they claim to be representing a collection agency who I do NOT owe money to. I checked with my credit report and contacted all the agencies I owe, and that agancy is not one of them. Ignore them!

So feel free to check out the company that is calling you. Don't let them scare you into paying for something. Many of these are debts that you could pay off with the original company, and if you pay these scammers, they will not erase the bill, but will sell it to someone else and you will still have it out there.

you need to call the company or your bank and tell the bank that someone has stolen your bank info and that they are paying some scammer company. by law, they have to return the money to you because they are not gonna want a law suit. call kellar king and associates at 904-672-1810 and tell them that you have a sister or a brother and that they used your credit card to pay a debt for them, or whatever excuse you want. and then tell them your not the one that gave them the ok to deduct money from your account and that they need to return the funds immediatly. they are an illegal company. i know that for a fact.

I got a vm today from 904 672 1810 x 2223 - Mark Milligan. He stated i was listed as a point of contact for an ex-brother in law of mine (who i haven't seen in 5 years). And to tell this brother in law to call them immediately. Hope they leave me alone....

Sounds just like a scam to me - refuses to give information pertaining to mailing address unless you have "reference or claim number". He claims he has to be more careful since 911.

Yes, they have been calling me, leaving VOIP messages, David Stern has left messages, and he hung up on me today when I would not verify the last 4 digits of my SSN. The VOIP messages give you an opportunity to hang up "if this is not you", but that you accept the responsibility that it is you if you don't hang up. How can you do this from a voicemail??! I called back again and told them to take my number off their list, she said "what list", and then insulted my intelligence. I told her to stop calling and she said "don't worry, we have already given our recommendation". What the %&#@*)!!! I did file a complaint and I suggest everyone else do the same.

I got a call from a David Stern at Keller King and associates today. He was asking for a person with the same name as me but with a JR at the end of it. It is totally not me. He gave me the last four numbers of the other persons SSN and I told him he had the wrong guy. He wanted nothing to do with it. He even went so far as to say he had talked to me within the past month. BOLD FACED LIE. I have never talked to this person or company before in my life. The number he left was 904-672-1819. But also in doing some research on this company I have found out that I also get alot of calls from them from a 866 number. I generally do not answer calls from toll free number like that. All I wanted to do was get them to remove my phone number from their database and get the correct one for the person they were looking for. This David Stern was very rude and unprofessional with me to the point he hung up twice on me. ALL I WANT FOR THEM IS TO LOSE MY PHONE NUMBER. I have filed complaints with the New York State attorney generals office and the Florida attorney generals office. I have also contacted an attorney to see what I can do to stop these harassing phone calls. So yeah, I need this BS to stop.

These rude people keep calling my phone. They leave messages for someone I don't know. When they finally called and I picked up the rude caller wouldn't give his name and hung up on me. The office staff was rude and unhelpful until I spoke to a supervisor. Filed complaint with FL AG's office. Let's see either of these get these annoying and clueless people to stop calling me.

I have been receiving recorded messages from same people and I just pick up phone and slam phone down as if they are looking for a person then legally they should have sent a letter as I don't answer to them at all. I know my rights and you can have them sued for harassment due to several calls a day you are receiving from them. save your messages as thats what I am doing at this point. I don't play games....
