They sent me a letter stating I still owed eight cents on a loan. hehehe I called the US Federal Loan place and they told me to completely disregard Van Ru because they will have me owing something the rest of my life. I also received a Paid in full letter from the Federal Loan Institution lol... SCAM SCAM VAN RU SCAM

eight cents... you have got to be kidding me... almosty worth writing a letter sending a copy of the paid in full letter and makibng them sign for a ceritified letter to prove you don't owe the 8 cents... (and costing them some $$ in the process)

Sounds like you got a letter by mistake. This should be a no-brainer, obviously, and be taken of your credit report. Most agencies won't even bother with accounts that small. If $10 accounts will get one letter sent out to them, and will wait around for 6 months before it shows as a "write off" on your report. I would call the collection agency and ask if they really are expecting you to mail in a money order/check for 8 cents.
You never know... you may get another laugh tomorrow when you call them to inqure, but on the other hand they do have over 100 complaints when it comes to billing issues with the BBB.
