How does consolidating your bills affect your credit?

Pamela

Hi Pamela,

Welcome to forums :D

Consolidation helps to build up a good credit in the long run. Credit scoring model is highly influenced by regular payments and debt consolidation ensures that. When you place your bills under consolidation program, your counselor arrange a suitable payment plan so that you can easily afford it. Once your creditors start getting money regularly your report reflects it.

Credit file temporarily shows that accounts are under consolidation, but once your bills are paid in full, your counselor tries to get it reported in your favor and that boosts your score.

You have not mentioned how much you owe, however, it is always better to consolidate your bills before a negative mark makes it ugly. IMO, you should avail the free consultation offered by this site. Fill out the online registration form; enter your contact number so that the counselor can call you in a day or two.
