So now I have 2 payday loans paid off and 2 to go!!!!!
I am a very happy girl today. This company got alot of my hard earned money in interest($1300 for a $500 loan) last year and I very happy to say goodbye to them.
I do have to say that they were the best of all my payday loans to work with, and I only owed another $250 to them, they were always nice and willing to work with me.
WAY TO GO TWOKID!!!!!!!!!!!! woohoo!!! I'm sooo happy for you!!!

I just emailed them that I had paid over $1300 dollars to date on a $500 loan, since my balance was under $250,I felt that the loan sure be considered payed in full, and I attached a copy of the Va.law that applies to payday lenders, stated that they needed to be licensed, and they are not.Since my balance was so low, maybe it just wasnt worth fighting,Im very glad, but my other loan with Gecc is my biggest worry, they refuse to remove the interest and I have now paid them $3300 for a $500 loan.I was not trying to get out of paying my debt,I have paid it and them some.I just want to pay what is fair and legal.

I think you have paid more than enough to both of these companies! Are you considering writing another letter to this other company, or are they in a different state? Does that matter if they aren't based in your state? Sorry, not being nosy, just trying to learn a bit about something I know nothing about :)

I did send a letter to GECC also, but they sent a letter back, saying that they will not change anything, and the balance will not be changed. They are sharks, and I would love to find away to take them down.I could have paid off all my credit cards with all the money that I have sent to these people.
If I new that a $500 loan would turn into a $5000 loan,I would have just walked the 7 miles to work everyday, instead of getting my car fixed a year ago.
If only I had found this board then.
Darn....it's too bad that they are such jerks. I can't believe
Darn....it's too bad that they are such jerks. I can't believe they wouldn't just accept what you have given them already!!

YAY! Congratulations! I'm so happy for you.
Maybe I'll try this with JD...Because I've had this loan for like 10 months now, and at $120, I've paid them like $1200 in interest.
Worth a shot. Not sure of their licensing here in Ohio, I haven't quite got the hang of that yet.

I played around a bit on the State of Ohio website, and tried to do a search for JD Marketing, but couldn't find them...hmm
Tried to call the lady at the State office, but her mailbox was full, I'll try again tomorrow.
While waiting, I'm going to draft a letter to them, and try to get them to just close it out...According to the State of Ohio website...
Loan Amount Loan Origination Fees and Interest
$500 or less $5 loan origination fee for every $50 borrowed plus 5% interest
per month or partial month.
Example of $100 loan for 2 weeks: $100 loan + $10 in loan
origination fees + $5 in interest = $115
Example of $500 loan for 2 weeks: $500 loan + $50 in loan
origination fees + $25 in interest = $575
More than $500 up to $800 5% interest; $5 loan origination fee for every $50 of the first
$500 of the loan; and $3.75 loan origination fee for every $50
above $500.
Example of $800 for 2 weeks: $800 loan + $72.50 ($50 for
first $500 and $22.50 for last $300) in loan origination fee + $40
in interest = $912.50

Jessi,
I have contact information on JD Marketing. I actually got a $420 refund from this company in January since I had paid that much over. They were very nice to deal with.

Twokid,
Glad to hear the good news concerning payday ok. File a complaint against them with your AG's office in Virginia. They might work with you after this. I hate payday lenders anymore, especially after the last few days. :x

TIME STELING EMPLOYER=PAYDAY AVENGER
I've noticed u are all over this sight talking about all of the different loan companies you owe and working together with all of these other people on line trying to figure out how to file complaints with a/g how to weasel the debt down.....does anyone on this sight even work and if so it seems odd that all of the sign ons are during business hours.
are you stealing time from your employer to do your dirty work. maybe they should be aware of all of your activity on this site while your supposed to be working....
since this is such a great site why don't you show your boss what youv'e been doing all day.
or maybe it would be easier to just send a quick email to poe so employer can just look for themselves
you posted at 1:41 at 1:51 at 2:01 at 4:04 again at 4:40 and 4:41 5:54 you might have been off by then. again at 5:56 and that's just about this company ??? you mentioned in your 4:40 post that you were grateful that your boss was so understanding. I wonder if he would think that, if he saw this sight and realized how much of the companies time and $ you waste on your personal problems. I want to add up the time spent on the other locations so we can get a running total for 1 business day
AND LOOK YOUR OVER HERE TOO

Ipaymybills,
Nobody is trying to weasel their debt down. That is not what consolidation is. The dilemmas in this forum are of collectors who violate civil rights and clearly can't be trusted with account numbers. As for the post times, many of our forum members work nights, evenings, or rotating shifts. We have a lot of nurses, teachers, and retail managers here. They sometimes have weekdays off.
Before you ciriticize people, make sure you know what you're talking about or you will make a damn fool and a nuisance out of yourself. Not that you haven't already. Wave bye-bye!
