Can a collector repeatedly call your cell phone to collect a debt after your have repeatedly asked not to be called on cell phone and you have given them a home phone and address

Yes, they can call your home, your cell and your job. You can 'ask' them to stop but most will not. The only thing that 'most' will stop for is if you send them a WRITTEN request to stop. Verbally doesn't work, it has to be WRITTEN. I suggest you sit down and write these people a letter and tell them to STOP calling you. Send the letter certified return receipt and hang on to your letter and your green card when it comes back to you, in case you should need it later. ALmost all will listen and respect your request to stop calling, there are a few that seem to think they are beyond the law and don't have to listen. hope I have helped. shirley

Shirley is absolutely right. Verbal communication often does not get so much importance. You have to write them a letter to stop calling you. State clearly that you are not denying to pay the debt. You have some problem to receive their calls, hence all communications should be through mail.

However, if you can receive phone calls at your home, specify your convenient time. Collectors should call you back at that time only. If they don't it will be a violation of fdcpa and you can lodge complaint against them.

Collect a sample letter from the list below and send it CMRRR. Keep all the copies of your correspondence and the return stub as well-
