Just wanted to vent a little over the massive brainfart I had when I left work this afternoon. I left the office at 2:30 today after a good day's work, with my mind occupied with many things i wanted to to today, including grocery shopping, studying, and some leisure reading. As I turned my car on, I noticed that there was no one parked directly in front of me. Assuming there was no parking space barrier, I put my car in drive and advanced. Then I noticed the abnormally sized bump I just covered ,and then a scaping sound at my chassis. Oh god! I just trapped myself on a parking lot barrier. I was trapped on the thing over two parking spaces!
I ran frantically into the security office reporting car trouble and begged for help. The security officer just looked at me, then handed me a phone to "call whoever I needed to". I have Triple A, so I called them. I waited for them, remembering how long they took back up in Massachusetts during all the snow storms, I expected a long wait.
They were there after about 30 minutes. The technician put staps on my rear tires, hoisted up my car from the back, and gingerly worked it loose from it's restraint on the parking barrier. I was so thankful for the technician's help that it took several glances at my wedding ring to resist hugging and kissing him in an overwhelming expression of gratitude.
So theres my greatest moment in stupidity! I clearly didn't think when I did that! Sometimes, I'm just such a 'tard, it's my lot in life!

Like the one time I locked my car keys in the car, and had to call my friends dad to come and get me. He drove me 30 minutes to my house, and then I grabbed the wrong spare key...Didn't figure that out until we got back to my car and noticed the key didn't work. LOL

Once upon a time jumped out of my truck in a hurry to grap a spare part for a piece of equipment broke down.
Well much to my dismay I "out of habit" locked the door with the truck running.
Needless to say 45 min. later and $50.00 dollors poorer I learned the lesson that to keep a spare door key in my wallet.

Don't feel so bad. I did something of the similar, when I was actually at a car dealership with my mother looking at other cars, because she was tired of her current model. She was a little irriated with me because I had just previous wrecked her car, and so when I put it in drive and "drove", I went over the parking "pylon" or whatever it's called. She freaked out, and so I slowly backed up---and luckily when I got out to look, there wasn't any damage. Brainfart on my part, panic on my moms part. Neither of which were good.

I was a Walmart in December and locked my keys in the van. Of course it has a security alarm and we called a lock smith and beings it had a car alarm he would unlock it. We had to call our friend to come get us in Jackson take us home which was 30 miles away then take us back. Now I ahve a spare key in my purse and one hidden on the van. Let me add that my husband was so mad at me that he wouldn't talk to me on our way home. Boy, that was th quietest ride with ever.

Yep, I've locked my key in my car numerous times. Thrice with the engine running. Since I worked at Home Depot at one of the instances, I made a spare key myself. I keep it on a Scott's keyring one of the vendors gave me, and I always keep it hooked on to my pants or jacket. But thank goodness for Triple A!

Ari
Have you ever locked your keys in your car 3 times in less than a 2 month period? The 4th time, was the last time (which I had the car running) and that was about 45 days later. It was a bad Spring-Summer for me that year.

I am so glad to see that I am not the only one that locks keys in the vehicle. 2 years ago when we finally got some snow, our dog got loose and we were trying to tie him back up so I decided to pull the truck into the yard and use the headlights to see. Well, I got the truck stuck and of course my hubby had to start yelling, neighbors in their doors watching, he went and got my keys and pulled my van into the yard to pull his truck out. Didn't work, he buried the van up to bumper and then got out hollaring at me that it all my fault. I simply told him to take a flying leap I was trying to help, went in the house and left him to figure out how to get the vehicles unstuck. He finally asked the neighbor to help pull both vehicles out of the yard.

I heard that! I was mostly afraid of the thorough dressing down I was about to recieve from the Flying Danish that I almost didn't call him, I even contemplated lying about why I was going to be home so late, but I thought the better of it and just took my medecine because he always has ways of finding things out! By the way, my brother made up the "Flying Danish" because my husband is a helicopter pilot from Denmerk. He also asked my husband if he is a distant cousin to Pie in the Sky!

Yes he does! My brother asked him over the phone if being a Flying Danish was anything like a pie in the sky. That came out because when we were dating, I would never refer to him as "Danish" always "from Denmark" then my brother askes me how much older he is than me, I told him tow years, and he says "Good! He's not a prune danish" and that went down the line with all sorts of questions and how it's good that he doesn't fit the profile of every flavor danish out there. Then the Flying Danish nickname. My husband aso knows that I call him Bamm-Bamm because with his pale blond hair and round baby face he looks just like the baby on the Flintstones! Any of you girls have any innovative affectionate nicknames for your husbands?
