i've received a couple of calls from them, that i should return the call... i do have an overseas credit card debt, nothing here that i know of... if i want to find out what they're calling about, what information should i give them.

You shouldn't give them much information at all. Make them prove to YOU why you owe them money. Have them tell YOU all the information, not the other way around. No need to give out your SSN and such, if they have it, they can confirm it with you. Just my opinion, I am pretty careful with my personal information now.

i'm new at this... guess i would first ask why they're calling? they would of course ask my name or number... don't want to give them my address. if i find that it is a legitimate claim, what steps should i take?

They will need to validate the debt for you. They have to prove what charges are owed. You can search this site for a debt validation letter and send that off to them.

can anyone tell me specifically what i should be asking/saying when i call this agency back? i don't want to give them my postal address as it's currently my mailing address.

i meant to say my mailing address is the same as my residential address, for now anyway...
