Has anyone heard of or had any dealings with a collection agency called First National Collection Bureau, they are in NV. They are contacting me about an old debt that I believe is out of sol. How should I deal with this?

Have you given them any information regarding this debt? And are they contacting you via phone, or mail? You can always send a validation request letter out to them, and find out the exact nature of the debt, as well as find out if they even own this debt.

Regards-
Mike

First find out what the statute of limitations is for your state. Send the agency a letter (return receipt) demanding validation of the debt, as is your right under the fdcpa. Demand that they show that you have some contractual obligation to pay them, not that they simply have your name and address.

I received a letter from them yesterday on an old store credit card that had dropped off my credit report (past the S.O.L. timeframe). I am going to send them a letter to tell them "too late".

These guys seem to call a million people a day between 7PM and 8PM, hoping anyone who answers will pay them. I have received nearly 20 calls asking for some person I do not know, and who I assume owned my phone number before me.

There is no amount of hate directed towards these trolls that is inappropriate.

Every Freaking Night. Let them die.

I am getting harrassed by somebody claiming to be a debt collector from Arrowhead Investments. They say they deposited money into an account in 2007 but I just opened an account with this bank in 2008. Now they are threatening me with jail time. Can somebody please help me or give me some advice.

are they calling you, or are they writing you a letter?
If they are calling you, are they asking for you by name?
If they are writing to you, what company and amount are they saying you owe?
Are you sure that this debt is not yours?
And are they showing on your credit reports?
What state are you in?
