Oh sister I can so relate! I have an 8 year old boy and a 6 year old girl, and they are soooooo rotten sometimes!LOL
Love 'em dearly though.
Once my daughter mixed Caro corn syrup and coffee grounds together all over the bay to her bay window. I was like WOW, I need to go out and smoke, so I don't do something I will regret. Seriously, the stuff was like cement!
Both of them used to like to get toilet paper wet and throw at eachother and on the walls of the bathroom. They have grown out of that too.
I could go on and on and on about all of the messes that I have had to clean up over the years. I probably could write a novel...think anyone would buy it? Instead of What To Expect When You're Expecting, call it What to Expect When You Have Two Toddlers--Grey Hair!!!
I would be the first to buy it. Tell you what, I have twins and
I would be the first to buy it. Tell you what, I have twins and anyone that says twins are easy, are out of their minds. What one doesn't think of the other does. They have their own way of communicating and sometimes it is disasterous.

My two still at home are teenagers now and they still do those things. For your peace of mind you will find that they will have this done to them at some point with kids of their own. My oldest is 29 and his two, 9 and 7, give him the dickens now. So smile and remember that when they grow up they get back what they gave!!!!!!! lmao :D  :D

Ha! When I was finishing college and working full-time my folks watched my kids, and she said that she would have never put that curse on me had she of known that she was going to have to spend this much time with them! LOL

I don't have kids...YET...But my friends do...They're like little monkeys. The get into anything. My boyfriend Chris doesn't help matters--When we go to Jen's house, he teams up with her 4 year old...Last week, Chris taught Zack how to hang on the doorknob and swing on the door...lol
When I was little, my cousin and I split an entire bottle of Flintstones vitamins...We didn't get sick or anything but we did get into a lot of trouble that day. We had a major vitamin high...I do remember trying to parachute off the swingset with a plastic bag...lol

yep, you're not alone. As kalevala316 said, I too still have kids living at home. a 19 almost 20 year old and a 27 almost 28 year old. The 27 is younger than most 5 year olds and he's always throwing something into the mix. LOL!!! My daughter has bipolar so shes good at keeping everything serious, and he's the grown class clown that keeps everyone laughing, so its nice---most of the time LOL. I also have a 28 and 29 yr old that are married and gone. One lives down the street from me and the other lives in atlanta. no grandkids yet. One of my kids threw the cat in the dryer when they were little, another one stuck green peas up his nose until we had to take him to the emergency room to get them dug out, with four kids, it was ALWAYS something!!!

Hang in there tammy!! Know the feeling, but mine are grown and some days I wish they were little! Have a 32 year old at home, who has obessive ciomplusive disorder, social anxiety, etc. and is one disability, but he is no problem. Also have a 25 year old who fell in lust a couple of months ago and moved in with some girl with 2 kids, hop they give him half the hell I got, just kidding, wouldn't wish that on anyone. Once when they were young we were at the pediatricians office and my oldest was playing with the mini-blinds while the dr was trying to talk to me,I turned to him and said"if you don't stop playing with those I am going to slap you silly". Well the dr got up and left the room while I figured he was going to turn me in for child abuse. He comes back in and hands me a shiny red apple and says"I am so glad and you deserve this, I rarely get to see a parent make their child mind. Usually they let them act like little demons"!!! So relax,Tammy, enjoy what you have while you have it!!

I enjoy having them around. They are just sneaky little brats and I will get them good on April Fools day. Gotta love them, before long they will all grown up and on their owen and i will be wondering what happened to the time. :)

My middle son, who is 3, smeared cream cheese all over our tv one time. That stuff is very hard to wash off, just smears even more. He also took a bunch of spices form the kitchen and mixed them together on his brother's bed...that was a nasty mess...one was chili powder, so it stained the sheets. I'm sure there is much more to come too:)

oh yeah miss karen!! with taking care of my daughter, it doesn't leave me with much of a life outside of that. My husband is a truckdriver. we always had these big dreams about me going out on the road with him once the kids got grown and gone. Still hasn't happened. I don't know if anyone remembers, but I posted a valentine story about me and my husband. we got married young but both had kids already. so together we had three step ladder kids. 18 months, 2 yrs, 3 yrs. (and when the 18 month old would turn 8, we would have a forth one!) anyways, we've never had it JUST US. its been kids from day one. we had hoped by the ages that we are now, I'm 45, he's 50, that we would finally have that alone together time to do what we wanted when we wanted. nope. hasn't happened. With the 28 yr old, I would take off and go on the road with my husband and leave him here...no problem. But with my daughter and her condition, I can't go anywheres. I just can't take off and leave her to fen for herself. no way no how. our time will come one day. hopefully.

Hear you loud and clear,Shirley!I'm 53 snd me and hubby thought we would be retired at the lake, just us two fishin'.lol.Since my son got on meds,he has been so much better, but still are totally responsible for his. At least he doesn't cut himself anymore, knock on wood. What a scary thing to see your child standing there with blood gushing out of his leg,and says that is the only thing that will take away the pain. Thank God for medication. I don't know, for some reasom I guess God figures that I am the best person to take care of my son and mom. I heard somewhere that He has already prepared you for everything you will ever go through, sometimes it taked others to show me how through their experiences, like this forum,it was no accident I found this site, wasn't even looking for a credit counseling or any type like this website. What helps me through the hard times, whether it's bills ,money,or kids, is that I know that this too shall pass and nothing lasts forever, even if it feels like it!!. My almost 2 year old mugged a kid at church for his Thomas the Train shoes.... So I went Monday and bought him some Thomas the Train shoes.... He is obsessed and I am an enabler!
I can honestly say being a Mom is the most fun I have ever had. I can't believe how funny he is, and was even as an infant. I had no idea even bitty babies could be such a hoot.

oh Karen you and me definitely have some things in common. My daughter was/is a cutter too. She hasn't done it since they switched her meds but even now theres times when she thinks about it...she is just able to have more control over not doing it. wow, I didn't know anyone else here knew what I was going through or was going through the same thing I was.

Karen--Shirley--I was a hair puller..I would actually pull my hair from my head when I was depressed. I'm still a little thin in the front sides. Not quite as severe as the cutting, but still very destructive. I don't take medication anymore, but it took years to stop. I'll still catch myself when things get tense I'll start to mess with my hair and pull a little bit...But I now realize that IT HURTS and I'll stop without any falling out.

I could tell you guys about my 8-year old nephew when I went to visit my brother and his wife for Christmas. The boy was just dying to see me, so when he did he just never left my side until I went home. The morning of Christmas eve, he was being a curious kitten and exploring my purse and my backpack, he pulled all my clothes out of my backpack, and he was turning beet-red and pie-eyed when he was reaching in and pulling out bras, undies, and other feminine products. My sister in law also told me about her oldest son putting water ballons in his shirt and impersonating her!

OMG Ari...lol
I was at Applebees with my cousins, One is 14, One is 12, and the youngest (my second cousin--My 14 and 12 year old's neice) is 4. Well, the 12 year old started her period recently so she had her purse with her, stocked with pads. She went to the bathroom, and left her purse on the waiting bench in the front where we were waiting for a table.
The 4 year old loves purses, and to go through them. She pulled all of the pads out and put them on the bench...Me, and the 14 year old are scandelous, so we said, "Brionna--Leave those on the bench! Summer with be SOOOO EMBARASSED!" So we left them there, and Summer came back and turned about every shade of red...lol No one else saw them except for us, but she was mortified..lol

Wow,Shirley,we do have alot in common!! Ari,I used to do the same thing when I was real young,There are days I would like to pull my hair out now,but for different reasons! Haven't been on for a few days, my poor little Shih-tsu had over 30 seizures over the weekend, got her some meds,to make a lone story short, found out she had a liver tumor and turned yellow. I put her to sleep yesterday   I could'nt stand to see her suffer, but it about killed me to do it. She also was old, about 11 years. So haven't felt like doing much of anything.Although Phillips-Cowan called my recorder today,I sent them a debt validation about 2 weeks ago, haven't heard anything from them. Don't know whether to tall to them or not,the mood im in I'll bite their head off and feed it to them for lunch  Thanks everyone for your sharing Karen

Thanks Toni-Yes I believe when you quality of life is gone and you are suffering it's time not to be selfish and do what's best for them. My dad had cancer and died when he was barely 50 years, and as much as the part of me wanted him here,I knew he wasn't living, just alot of pain and suffering. I can see my little Ethel runnig again. We also have Fred who is grieving like crazy over her being gone. Thanks again for listening!

Yesterday morning our kids came running into the living room excited to see what the easter bunny brought. They grabbed their baskets and they were very excited. My eight year old looked at me and my husband and said mommy and daddy this is the best easter we have had in a while. I of course started crying. I didn't realize our financial problems were that obvious and hurting our kids. They are always happy with what they got, but I guess I didn't realize just how much they were affected.

Thanks Mary.Ethel(my shih-tsu) used to love to run and play all the time. I know she's running and playing again, and with time it is getting a little easier. Fred(my yorkie) is still grieving and lookin for her,but I think that will get easier for her too. Tammy thanks for the story it moved me,I know from raising two kids, that no bill, debt collector or stress is important enough to miss those smiles and growing up Best of luck to your family, and many, many happy days.
