When you stop payment they will be contacting you like anything and probably will try all the options. Once you start paying through consolidation company the calls will still continue, but will be stopped after 2 or 3 payments probably. That was the knowledge I have gathered from others' posts.

If situation goes worst, you can ask your counselor to help you. Keep us posted.

Thanks for the reply. I was hoping to avoid that since I'm not in default with them yet. I really don't want to call my references, since they don't know about this.

Remember that the lendors cannot disclose any information about the loan. They can only contact your refrences to locate you. If they violate you should take appropriate action, and file complaint.

They know exactly where to find me and I won't mind answering the phone to tell them what's going on. I really want to pay them off and work this out.

If they are legit collectors who follow the law, they will not contact/and/or give info to your relatives. Just a warning though, I have had collectors call my references and treat them nasty, and threaten them for "protecting me". That is probably a rare happening though, but I would make sure and give the PDL companies the consolidation co. info right away, so they will contact them, and not your references.

Can anyone tell me where this number is from. I can't find anything online and they are calling me. I tried to call them back and I get someone with a very bad accent.
