I was approved for Purpose Advantage credit card with Discover network, they have the worst customer service, I think they have 12 yr old kids working there the way it sounds when you talk to them on phone. They have reported on my credit report I have 2 cards with them, and I don't. does anyone have any info on this company

Does this purpose advantage really go on the credit report and ruin telecheck/the ability to get a checking account at a bank? I have a Purpose Advantage card and I tried to change my banking information because I had closed the bank I originally signed up with and assigned to debit out of the card right away but they said I can't do it because it's too late? They started the debit process one week before the statement even ended. Are these guys a joke? They also gave me a starting available credit of $50! and said I was prohibited of using this card at gas station pumps.

I have had this card for 3 months and received two increases already. I really don't have a problem with them. the answer to your question. they really do report your credit history with them. i don't know about the telecheck though.

I had this card for 2mos and cancelled it because they started randomly deducting payments from my checking account. I requested that they credit back my acct bank account fees. I faxed my bank statement for proof and after two weeks, it was still in their dispute department! Sorry isn't work $50,

I did not know i could not use the card at the pump,and they put a 85.00 dollar deposit on my card for a ten dollar purchase . They kept saying that the 85.00 dollars was a transaction. And i got proof from the 7-11 that it was a deposit and it said right on the sheet that i was to get a 74.98 dollar refund but i called them about 10 times and it seemed like i got the same person with a different name this went on for about 10 days and then i finaly canceled my card just 2 days before this happened i recieved a 50 dollar increase bringing my credit limit to 150 dollars but it's still not worth keeping the card worst service i ever had

Worst Customer Service. Took money out of account earlier than what I had specified resulting in a 35.00 NSF fee from my bank. When I called to dispute it and was told "fluff", I then asked to speak with a supervisor. The rep had the nerve to return to the line and inform that supervisors were taking other calls. I was so hot that I cancelled my card. I have had better experience with Rewards 660 and I am sticking with them.

I have a purpose advantage card with similar problems has anyone come up with a viable solution? I'll try the better business bureau and see what I come up with. I'm sure they should be at least sending notifications.

I received this card only 2 months ago. I had made only (2) transactions. Both transactions were paid for immediately (they had direct payment from my checking account). That was 7 weeks ago. I have made (8) phone calls to the customer service departments who acknowledged that the payments were received on time for the
transactions but not yet posted by their collections department??? When I asked why my card was in collections, they said because the
payment that was made on June 4, 2006 had not yet been posted.When I asked when it would be posted they could not tell me. When I asked for
phone number(s) to the collections department, they said they did not have any. Customer Service said they E-mail to the collections department when they have customer issues. I have had 7 of the 8 Customer Service People tell
me that my requests via their E-mail had been
"Escallated" which I understood to mean "Expedited" I was only able to speak to a manager once & the service was just as lousy.I
asked for the E-mail address to the collections
department and they would not give it to me.
The phone call I made tonight was 48 minutes long.Finally after 20 minutes into the conversation, the customer service rep told me the reason my payment from June 4, 2006 was never posted was because discover had made errors in posting payments to the wrong accounts. Yet she confirmed that my payment was
received & said my card was released, but yet on
hold because the collections department had not
yet posted it to my account. I demanded that I
receive a phone call from their collections department tomorrow at work, & that I want it resolved tomorrow. I do not want excuses or someone telling me they are working on it. I also told her that I should have my credit limit
immediately elevated to a couple hundred dollars
to compensate for all my cell phone time invested in getting the run-a-round.If this happens, I'll use the card to the max one more time and if they take my money again and do not
credit me for it, I will not pay them.

Fuse, take advantage of the conversation recording system of this site. It will let you record your talks for free. Join this forum and then follow the steps written over here.

Tell them that you are going to record the call and then proceed. Let us know how they harassed you. And you can use this piece of recording as evidence against them.

The cust serv of this company is the worst I have ever experienced. The company has a POBox in Atlanta,Georgia but when you call the cust serv number it is directed to a foreign country-Philippines and the representatives who answer are stupid they have no clue when you ask them a question, that of which you repeat many times, what it is you are asking. I initiated my account with them back in March/April and had regular scheduled pymt debits from my personal checking account so when I called to cancel one because I was going to mail in a pymt they still had that deducted from my cking account. I disputed that with my bank for my cking account but Purp Adv is still taking forever to straighten out the issue on their end from charging me a fee that was their error. I SUGGEST THAT NO ONE HAVE AN ACCOUNT WITH THIS CARD ISSUER WHO HAPPENS TO BE WITH FIRST BANK OF DELAWARE- THEY ARE THE WORST.! I RECOMMEND PEOPLE CONTACT THEIR LOCAL CONSUMER PROTECTION AGENCY WITHIN THE STATE THAT THEY RESIDE OR THE BBB.

I got my card Jan. 2006, along with Imagine Card issued by the same bank (myimaginecard.com) which I love. Purpose Advantage takes payments out early, and too much, you always have to speak to a foreigner who reads from a script and I hate that. On the other hand, they report to all 3 bureaus quickly, and they give you rapid increases. My solution, do what I did. Got a zero balance and cut my card up. Without making any transactions I still get increases, I'm up to $200. Also write a letter to their complaints dept. They're in Atlanta and its an American that responds.

I have had an account with purpose advatage for over 5 months and when I called to check my balance the recording said the accounts had been closed but I talked with customer service and they told me to log into myimaginecard.com/purposeadvantage to get a mastercard to replace it they approved for 300.00 and only a 75.00 fee not the usual 150.00 that imagine gold charges and the interest rate is only 13.99% alot better deal.

I'm sorry that the card no longer works. I had gotten two increases of the past 6 months. I guess now I can never get another credit cars.

Wow.....sounds like most of you had issues with this card. I guess I should count myself lucky then. I had this card for quite a while before they cancelled the program. I didn't have ANY problems with them at all. They took my payments as agreed, helped me if I called with a question and gave me credit increases. I was very happy with them. I now have the Imagine card.

I applied for this purpose advantage card like 4 months ago,called them once because I got a letter saying my acct. was closed, and didn't even have their credit card. They said they would send it to me in a week to 10 days. Then today they sent a letter saying that my purpose---discover charge card was not sent due to technical processing errors.now. Now they tell me to log on to MyImagineCard.com////.I do with my ss# and my code from letter, but it does nothing. Stupid credit cards out there

i just tryed to sign up but i am glad i couldnt when you call the 1800 number it says the purpose card has been discontinued what kind of crap is that i bet it is some weird company (scam) that will take all your money and run i would be scared they would max out all of your accounts and then disconnect their numbers " be afraid be very afraid " you cant even get on the wqebsites any more

I just got a check in the mail with all the fees returned to me. I closed the account for the same reasons as all the above. The letter stats that the card and bank have been closed (Wonder why) so all you foks writ to this address and get your start-up fees back

I am in the same boat. I ordered this card a long time ago... never recieved it, kept calling, i would get 10 diff answers from 10 diff people, your address is wrong, your name wasnt spelled right, system error, etc.. so i told them to close acct and refund all my money. They kept trying to take more money you to of my acct and never closed it. i have been calling and complaning forever, then yesterday i recieved a check in the mail for 19.95 covering my start up fees. do right to that above address so you can get your money back.

They never really explained why the program was cancelled. I had the card for a while and was up to $150. Today I got a check for $78.74 refunding all the fees. Discover must have closed them down or some Attorney General did, or they got sued. I applied for the Imagine card which seems like a good card with a $300 credit line to start.

I had a purpose advantage card for almost a year the debited my payment and it cleared the bank but than every three days they kept trying to debit the same amount saying they never got their money they overdrafted my acct with over 600$ in fees before the bank finally did something everytime I tried to conact them they did nothing untill I contacted the BBB than about 6 months later they sent a check for all money they owed me as well as a gift card. This company is a joke not worth it at all. and the card I told them to shove it.
