I am furious! I wanted to have an extra-special dinner tonight. I went to meijer, they had ribeye marked down. they were still pricey though, so I got my little boy a $2 eye of round, he wouldn't know the difference. I took them home and marinated them and made cheesey potatoes on the side. Well, my oven thermostat needs to be adjusted, I knew that and forgot, so the potatoes tasted like a mixture of dirt and saltines. the french bread was stale. And the steaks! I paid $15 for these 2 steaks..You couldn't cut through them with a chainsaw. they were not edible. It wasn't my husband's grilling..I like mine bloody, he likes his medium, they both were equally tough. we were so mad..He went back to meijer with the uneaten steaks and the package to get our money back! Yep, it was that bad. But you know what? I took a bite of Andrew, my son's, steak while I was cutting it up and it was nice and tender, Figures.

I'm still mad that that happened to you...lol I love steak..Steak deserves respect! :)

The best steak I had was at this fancy pants restaurant..I don't even know what it cost...Our 2006 Stearns and Foster Roll-out meeting was at this restaurant in North Columbus, and I ordered this fancy steak...It was prob. cheap meat, that they charged an ungodly amount for...But it was so good...I ate the entire thing even though I was stuffed...lol

Having also worn a chef's hat and racked up some debt from a private culinary school(which should be somewhere in the vacinity of Part 2 of My Story whenever it gets written)

I have found that most times if you go with the "eye" cut regardless of round or sirlion though I favor the sirlion myself it is just has good as the $20 fancy cut. By the time you marinade or rub it depending on your prefrence it is just as good and most times more lean then higher priced ribeyes and T-bones. Now if your one of these people who love the fat on a steak well I will just have to admit a little for cooking flavor is fine but I am paying for the meet not the fat. Money goes farther this way. Never pay for the name be it brand or type.

It's all ok now! We got double our money back! My husband said the lady at the customer service desk started poking at the steaks with her finger, like she could figure out if they were tough or not that way. he said she was being really crabby about it, so he almost told her to take a bite and see.
