Best of luck to you!

Don't be scared of court. If your credit is already shot, being sued won't make it worse. Being sued can stop the clock on outrageous interest payments, and will only result in a court saying, "yup, you owe the money." That's the worst that can happen.
On the other hand, anyone who sues you can be sued himself very easily by you filing a counterclaim. And, since most of the payday loan companies people complain about in this website are operating illegally, (1) they can't sue you anyway, at least not in the U.S. (and a judgment against you in Belize won't hold water here); and (2) you can get a judgment against them for way way more than they're suing you for if they're charging more interest and fees than your state allows or if they're required to be licensed and are not.
The scary thing about court is just that it's an unknown. Make it known. Go there and watch what happens enough to understand the basic procedure and how things work. You should have gotten a basic understanding of the legal system along with a field trip to an actual courtroom in 8th grade civics, but there are things The Beast doesn't want you to know about.

I have a personal loan with American General and three months behind they also told me if I don't pay the $300 by a certain date they will take me to collections. I already had them with T&C spoke with the manager of AM General and he agreed to speak with T&C. T&C told him they would take the payment ($150) down to their local AM General so it would be credited to my account (I live in Virginia) so American General has now accepted T&C I was making the same payments to AM General as T&C is now. I just got behind because of the payday loans. Talk to the manager of your AM General and see if they would work something out with T&C. There is a local American General in Birmingham where T&C is located. Maybe they can work something out with your AM General like they did mine. Talk to T&C to, that's what I did and T&C called the manager of AM General that's how they worked it out. But I called AM General first. Hope this helps!

I would be suprised if T&C isn't able to help you. *Most* normal creditors can easily see that a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush.
I agree with VLD, the court system can be very frightening if you are not familiar with the system. I was so shocked with how the court was operated at my first felony case , when I was in law-enforcement. It was nothing like LA Law or anything I had seen on television!!!

Ok,so just an update, I spoke with T&C this morning, I'm in Washington so there is a bit of a time difference. The person I spoke with was very helpful. She said they will contact AGF and see if they can work out some payment arrangements. She said they will call me later and let me know how it goes. T&C has been so helpful. I really hope this works out. Thank you all for your support and advice. I really appreciate it.
