Sorry I haven't been around much. Been very busy between kids and work. I know a lot of you have been PMing me about my wrist surgery, it is on Monday morning. I went in today for my pre-op physical, and during the EKG they noticed an abnormality so they did a heart ultrasound (echocardiogram). They discovered that I have a somewhat serious heart condition called aortic insufficiency. I'm not sure what they are going to do about it, but I do know that my activities are a bit limited for now, so hopefully I will be around more often after my surgery, if I can type! Anyway, just wanted to let everybody know since I got a billion PMs :)

Thanks for the prayers guys! I really appreciate it. :) The doc says that basically it boils down to having a valve replacement.....kinda scary but I will be just fine, and it's not something that needs to be done right this second, but soon I guess. I'll keep you guys updated!!

Vicadin really didn't do a whole lot for me. They gave me percoset after my surgury, and it helped the pain, but made me nauseous...lol And trying to get to the bathroom to barf really fast on crutches is about impossible...I resorted to hopping on one foot. And I tried the trashcan next to the bed thing, but that was just gross..lol

Thank you so much quesik! I'm still trying to figure out how to function without my left hand (I am a leftie), but my typing is getting faster with one hand! LOL...the vicodin isn't doing much for me today, unfortunately, but they said it will hurt a lot more today anyway. They didn't lie! :)

You should see the thing they put over my hand...it's called a CPM device...it's like a robotic hand that constantly flexes and extends my fingers...creepy!! :)

I heard that! When I was 15 and had my partial hysterectomy, both my brothers had different reactions to it. When I told them how the constant lifting and lowering of the hospital bed by the nurse who was trying to adjust my IV caused me to throw up all the water I drank earlier, my youngest brother laughed and called me "human squirt gun" and my other bro Dan said "Zaaaaack! That's disgusting!" Dan was also squeamish at the sight of my tummy still in sutures and my scar. Zach wasn't bothered.
