Thanks for the info, but because of other isues, I use my visa debit card tied to my checking account in place of writing checks in a store. I'm thinking if I close this account, I won't be able to get another one. Any ideas? If the bank just changes my acount number, if they will, will the card I have carry over to the new account?

Not all financial institutions are the same. Usually, if all you have is an ATM card, then no. Your pin and everything else would remain the same. Although some banks/credit unions will issue new cards for their check card/debit card. Talking to a rep at your financial institution will clear that up.

Regards-
Mike
