I want to reiterate my point to everyone here.

Please, be strong, for yourselves and for your families and othes who may be going through these tough time with you.

Again, and I cannot say this enough.

**Don't let them push you around

**Don't take any crap from them, you are a human being, make sure they treat you like one!

**Close your original checking account! This is the first step to regaining control over your finances. As long as you let them have access to you bank account they can do whatever they want. Stop the insanity now!!

**Remeber, most of us resorted to these payday loans because we were in desperate, difficult situations.. They know this, and are trying to exploit you and take advantage of you for all they can. No matter what they say, or on rare occasion, how nice they are, the bottom line is they want to clean you out. Don't let them!

** You are in control, not them!

** The collection person is a human being, just like you. Rule one in customer service, and in life, is to treat others as you want to be treated yourself. If they can't do that simple thing, don't deal with them.

** Rule one in collections is you need an ear and your attention. If they are trying to strong arm you, deny them! You don't have to talk to anyone. If they can't get your attention and cannot make contact with you, sooner or later, they will go away..

** A payday loan is an unsecured debt. The "company" took a risk by loaning you the money. They cannot send you to jail or take anything away from you in order to collect... If they say that they can, they are lying!! Lying is part of their job! So don't feel bad about lying to them.. They will get over it.

** Most of these collectors would never repeat what they say to you over the phone or in writing to you in person, just like any coward... More reason to not take any crap from them.

I know this seems a little tough. But, remember who we are dealing with here. Most of these companies are dishonest and have numerous complaints with the BBB. Regardless of your situation, stand up for yourself and fight them!!

Payday loan companies exist for one reason only, to take advantage of people in bad situations. And, as is evidenced here, most of us end up in more trouble in the end as a result. No one ever wins with these people if you play by their rules!

STAND UP AND FIGHT!!

I did, and have WON! I will help you too! Let me know and I would be more than happy to help anyone here. I'm not a lawyer, or in the business. I am just simply a person like everyone else here who found myself in tough times and resorted to the payday loan and was taken advantage of and almost lost everyhing I had. But I stood up to them and I pushed them around, and won, and will still do it.

I am not afraid of any of these companies or there sorry excuses for people.

BRING IT ON!!

thanks for your advice jerkball

Jerkball,
Did you pay off your PDL? I can't pay mine. I have been in default for two months. Haven't heard from any collection agencies. I seen post in the forum that since I live in the state of Florida that the state usery laws protect me. Haven't heard much from any these PDLs. Wonder if this the "quite before the storm.

I am having trouble finding the collectors so I can pay them off. My credit report only lists 2 utility companies. How can I find out to whom I can pay my debts off. Any advice you can will be helpful. Thanks in advance for your help.
P.S. why do they make it so easy to ruin your credit, but impossible to payoff?

Lol, I will tell my story, just not tonight. You can read a few of my experiences, like my ameriloan experience, which was fun, full of lies and foolishness.. I don' have the time to spend here tonight, but I will tell soon.

My approach is very simple, and comes from advice a bankruptcy lawyer gave me a few years ago. He let me know that in reality, there is really nothing any of the people can do to you.. They can't come to your house and get you, they can't take your money or property, unless you let them. And in order to do that, they need some cooperation from you. They need you to play ball with them, don't. While we should always pay off our debts, sometimes shit just happens and we can't. It's nothing personal, it's a facesless company who wins wether you pay them or not. You pay, they get their money back, and probably alot more. You don't pay, they wtire it off as a bad debt expense, and probably collect more then if you had paid it off in the first place. So who cares? Not me, and I will certainly not let some little min. wage slimeball reading a script on the other end of the phone push me around..

If it helps you at all, think of a bill collector who calls you as one of those stinking drunks who pushes you to give them your spare chang outside of the liquor store. The only difference? The drunk has more of a future than the collector, LOL. Bad I know. But you need to let these shit bums know where they stand..

Another good thing to take note of it how much you are paying back. If it seems like you're being whacked with excessive fees, you more than likely are. Call them on it because extortion is a felony. Fees and applicable interest are percentages, not exponents, and even those can be compromised.

By keeping track of your payments, you can pinpoint the exact time in which you have covered the original balance. Jessi did a remarkable thing by writing a detailed payment history summary to her collection agency explaining the excessive amount already paid way beyond original balance, and that the account should have been closed. For JD Marketing to contiue to dunn her would be extortion.

Jessi, if they still seem aloof, send a copy of that letter, plus a complaint to the consumer affairs department of the Attorney General's office of their state (Nevada). This should be over and done with.

I have never had any dealings with payday loans and the like. Just our of curiousity, I thought that you wrote them a check, and made some agreement. If you didn't pay some sort of interest, they send the check to the bank. If it bounces, you're in trouble.

This is just my vague understanding. Corrections please!

That's the catch. What goes on exactly is when one goes for a payday loan, they write the lender a postdated check for that amount and then recieves the cash. What happens all too often is that the lender tries to cash that check before the date on the check, and then later on may help themselves to more of your money, using manipulations and guilt trips to keep you at bay when you call them on it.
