What is the name of the company you're dealing with? Have you read over your contract carefully, and then a second time, even more careful. Chances are the money you're expecting to get back as a refund is their fee for last services rendered. Keep your head up, and keep trying to get ahold of them.
If this is a local office, there is a "cancellation process" that usually has to be done in person. If they are local, simply go in and ask to speak with your conselor.
By the way, what is the reason for you wanting to leave the consolidation program? Have they (the company) not been helpful to you? Is there another avenue you're sought out.
These questions aren't just for my curiousity, but for the community as well. Any information you can provide will be greatly helpful.
Regards-
Mike

I did the same thing with a credit help company. They never set up ageements with my creditors as they ageed to, they kept my $683.00 initial payment and they charged me $47.00 a month to pay bills for me. I contacted them requesting them to cancel my contract and refund my money and they won,t respond back. So trying to get my debt situation under control actually got me further in the hole.
HEEEEELLLPPPP
I have been in a debt relief program since OCT 2005. I have had 4 of the five companies I listed agree to my proposals. I have been having a difficult time with American General. The office manager claims they will not accept a proposal because my account is not current. They accept my decreased payments monthly and have stopped finance charges and late pmt fees according to my monthly statements.
The witch (sorry she is!!!) claims she is going to take me to court.....Is that legal???? My debt management company is sending payments monthly and NONE have been returned.
Please help me out here.
Thanks

let them take you to court, and if they do, make sure you get documentation from your debt relief program that they have been accepting payments.. my guess is that a judge will wonder why they are sueing when you are trying to pay and they are accepting payments... in fact next time the witch calls tell her that you would love to explain to a judge about the way they threaten you with suit while accepting payments from you

mom of 3 kids, I'm having the same problem with Pioneer loans, and I'm going to keep doing as jj said. Pioneer has also threatened legal action, but I hope it will get laughed out of court because they have been accepting payments. Actually, for the last 6 months they debited payments from my checking acct, and now they will receive payments from T&C.
