can someone pls tell me if i am reading the bottom half of this press release correctly..

so because i have paid back SO much in fees and whatnot, yet i still seem to owe $$$$... i have since stopped replying, killed my accts and opened new ones.. and have told the few companies i have dealt with that i refuse to proceed further until i rec'v account statements detailing all activity. Westbury Ventures told me they do not have that capability due to the fact that they are internet based, and in the next breath she says she "will not dig" for my file.. so which one is it? if u keep files, u keep contracts and info about each account, no?!

Westbury Ventures and National Payday Advance.. can anyone tell me their best tactics with these ppl?!

Be careful with Westbury Ventures. They are notorious in sending ACH debits to your financial institution and also keep sending the day after day for different amounts. They are a ripoff. Call your state attorney and file a complaint. Also file a complaint with The FTC. They are not licensed to collect debts in any state muchless Navada. They are not even licensed to practice business in any state. They are a fraud and will never send you a detailed statement. They are a band of collection companies or individuals getting the names of people who may have or had a loan outstand and then send you an email advising they have hired a Check Recovery service to locate a checking or savings account in your name and then threaten to take all the money they want out of that account. NON SENSE. That is illegal unless you have a judgement against you signed by a state or federal judge. No one can go into an account without your express permission, and how Westbury does it is they con you into a payment plan and then ask you for your account info and then debit what they want, if you say 50.00 per week they will debit $200.00 or $250.00 if they want to, they have your account information.

me too - anything for North Carolina? these companies are illegal in North Carolina. am willing to pay them off but with nsf fees from them and my bank, and the increasing amount of interest I owe, i'll never pay them off! i am a single mom who was laid off in Nov - making this situation even worse! i've tried working with the loan companies but they just don't want to hear it! out of my little unemployment check, i need to pay more important bills, like food for 3 children, rent, utilites. i can pay small, like $50 every two weeks but this won't cut it with these companies. any ideas?

You need to send a complaint to your AG's office, BBB, and the AG's office in Delaware and also one in Missouri as they have offices in Delaware, and Missouri depending on which pdl it is, they are all connected. I wouldn't hold your breathe waiting for the dv ltr to arrive.

Do I understand correctly that you did not pay anything on them or are you saying you haven't heard from them in two years?

thank you for the information about the laws by state. I took out about 6 payday loans and had to close my account to avoid the debit with no money in there. Those debits cost me $300 in overdraft charges so I had no other choice but to close so I could get a handle on when and what amount was being paid out. I have a plan to pay them all off, but I am wondering If I can use the law of Michigan for loans to get them to lower the amount they are charging me? Every two weeks they add another extension on so that it within 4 weeks a loan that started out as $300 is costing $500. If all the payday loan places do this to me, I will never be able to get them paid off.
