Today I got a updated credit report from Equifax in the mail and HSBC is listing charge off each month instead of showing the payments from credit counseling. I disputed the charge off beings it was in credit couseling and according to equifax the results are to stay the same. How can they stay the same? They are receving monthly payments. This is the third dispute. What do I do next? I have sent Equifax proof of the payments from consolidation.

Tammy don't give up. HSBC is scum, they dropped us out of debt consolidation because we were a few days late so T&C had to send new proposals and I had to pay them $32 so the account didn't go to collections, whatever, I have them the payment. I haven't looked at our credit reports lately but I better and I'll let you know how they're reporting our stuff. I can't believe anyone can be worse than Capitol One or Providian but HSBC is...hang in there.

*knock on wood* I've had pretty good luck with Capital One, but loathe HSBC and Providian.

I just can't see how they can list it as a charge-off if you are paying them. Maybe it would be better to wait until T&C gets ready to mail the last check, and have a letter sent stating that by cashing the last check HSBC is agreeing to remove derogatory credit bureau info?? It's worth a try.

Does HSBC stand for Household Bank? I have a MasterCard with them, and also had Capital One. What exactly have they put you through Tammy? I rarely use my credit cards because after how sloppy and careless my ex was with credit cards, they feel like incendiary devices to me, and I only use them for emergencies, Christmas, or when I have no other choice.

We don't have them anymore, we paid them off over a year ago and our balance was only like $300 so I don't have any recent experience with anyone but First Premier and HSBC and HSBC wins hands down in my book.

They are the same. First Premier is a subsidiary of HFC, which is a subsidiary of HSBC.

First Premier was bought By Household Financial in 2000, which merged with Benificial and changed their name to HFC/Benificial in 2003 which was bought by HSBC in 2005.
