I have dealt with Quik Payday. They turned me over to collections. As once I was able to pay, I made my monthly payments to the collections. I have several others this year. One sent me an email talking about garnishing my wages. I'm not really sure if they can do that.

truwoman, to garnish your wages they would have to take you to court and the judge would have to rule in their favor. I'm not a lawyer, but I don't see an internet payday lender doing such, since they seem to be taking notice that states are cracking down on unlicensed lenders.
carol, have read over some of the posts regarding sending letters to the lenders, asking for them to consider the loan as paid in full (that is, according to your state laws)?
Both of you, please feel free to send myself or others here a personal message if you would like some help with researching your state laws and writing a letter. So many of us have been in the same position, and want to help others get back on path financially.

Thanks so much for your imput. I don't know if these pdl's can garnish wages or not. I haven't heard anyone's wages be garnished, but perhaps I just don't know all. I do not even talk to these people or listen to their messages. I know the messages are probably threatening and would scare me even more than already am. I can't promise to pay right now, because the money just isn't there. I not trying to neglect what I owe, I just need a car and be able to get up on utility bills.
I don't know what good it would do to talk to them. From the post I'm reading in this forum, you have to fight with them to get them to work with you. It has been two months since I closed my bank account and I haven't paid anything. I have 6 loans and Interim Cash is the one that is calling constantly and I know they are hard to deal with. I guess I don't should not worry about things I cannot do anything about, but I am responsible and like to pay what I owe. I'm this situation due to illness and loss of jobs for me and my husband because of terminally ill mother-in-law. Thanks so much for your encouragement. It really gives me support to read the post in this forum and know I am not alone.

Hi carolyoung01,
I can understand the situation where you find yourself. At this point of time, you will have to arrange for some kind of job so that you can maintain your daily expenses like food, rent etc. Don't tense yourself with the payday loan problems. Send a letter to the companies requesting for some time due to your financial problems. Notify them from your side if you can't send them anything now. Maybe, they will take a light turn.
Hang in there carol. You can only do what you can do.

Carol...
They can not garnishee wages unless they have a court order, and they probably won't due that because most of the pdl's aren't licensed in Florida and that would mean a great case for you!
You may want to do as David suggested and send them all letters, or fax them one that explains your situation and that you plan on making payments when you can, and how much you can!
Keep everything in writing and save it all.
Another suggestion, call the FL.Dept. of Business and Professional Regulation, or email them. They are collecting information on some of these pdl's for the purpose of litigation.
I'm in Florida too..if you need their number or more info on this, pm me and I'll send you what I have.
Hey truwoman31
I am dealing with two different pdls, have you had any dealings with checkngo online? They are being pretty rotten at this point? Just wondering if this is one of your 5? Please let me know.
I believe there is another link or discussion about CheckNGo in
I believe there is another link or discussion about CheckNGo in the forums. You will need to do a search for them to find more information. I haven't personally dealt with them but what is your situation?

Carol, I long did you pay on these loans and are they all Internet PDL's? You might have already paid all of the principal back which means they need to mark your account Paid In Full.
