Does anyone know this number? 870-772-1835

I did a reverse phone directory. It was registered to Valor Telecommunications Of Texas, Lp#1. Then stated: However, due to number portability, some numbers have been transferred to a new service provider other than the registered carrier. What does this mean?

That sounds like Certified Recovery Systems out of Houston, Texas. If I am wrong, someone please correct me.

The number belongs to west asset management. They always leave an automated recording when they call and it gets stinking.

I found their customer service number: 1-888-433-2886. Call them up and request them to remove your name from their system.

I have received several phone calls from this number and called them back to ask them who they were and they didn't tell me. but they kept calling me.
actually 870, 772-1835 is not receiving calls

These ppl call my house daily leaving messages on my answering machine for ANYBODY to hear, stating they are a debt collector! I can sue them for this!

Area Code 870 is an Arkansas based number - eastern Arkansas to be exact.

This number 870-772-1835 keeps calling me everyday and the person they are looking for doesn't even live here. I have told them this but they keep calling.

Starting Monday 3/12, I have received 20 calls from this number on my cell phone. If I don't know the number, I do not answer. If it is important, I would think the person would leave a message, but they haven't yet. Today (3/14) I received 13 of those 20 calls. Wish the person would leave a message so I would know what this pertains to. I refuse to answer it, for I do not want to incur any charges to my cell phone.

I got three calls over the past week on my cell. I called back yesterday from a different phone. They actually looked me up by the phone number they called. When they told me they were looking for another person's name, I told them no one by that name has ever had my cell phone number. They told me they would then remove the number from their list. WEIRD

These people called and said they were collecting for a bill from a hospital. Offered to send a check to cover it, but they did not want a check and would give no address. Instead they wanted my checking account number - which I give to no one. They did say they were west asset management, but beyond that refused a check. It is without a doubt a scam (in my opinion) since any ligit agency would, in fact, accept a check. Conversation got somewhat heated (with a lady) who finally got her "supervisor". who said the same thing and finally the conversation ended with "I offered to send a check; you are not getting into my checking account. It is apparent you are not what you say you are."

This company needs to do more research before calling numbers to find people, i have had my home phone number for more than 15 years and they have called my number over 20 times when i was on vacation last week looking for someone i have never heard of. I wish there was something i could do to stop this from happening to others.

I see that I am not the only one that they are calling but nothing seems to be done about their repeat calls. They ask for someone that does not even live here and when I ask who is calling, they hang up.

I received many calls from this phone number starting this month and they keep calling and claimed that they are west asset management and asked me if I wished to make a payment to cover someone's (names that never heard of) debt. I think they are trying to call any number to mislead people to cover debts for the companies. Their contact address should be West Asset Management, Inc.

When I called them back and asked for their company's FEIN, the guy told me that he can't give it to me over the phone and I must fax that request with all my information. I don't know any way to stop them calling, or I should private my phone with security code and block that phone number.

After I changed my phone service provider and ported my number to the new provider, then I started receiving calls from 870-772-1835 everyday, 20 times/day. I thinking would that be my previous phone company (Qwset) sold my information as a revenge or my new phone company leaked my information outside. Anyway, I hope our gov't can do something to stop this scam.

I have received dozens of phone calls from 870-772-1835. No one ever says why they are calling nor gives a return number. I kept digging and learned the number is registered to west asset management. Their phone number is 888-433-2886.

I reached someone who told me someone used my phone number in some credit transaction. If you receive any calls, DO call the 888 number and complain.

The person I spoke to said they would remove my number from their list.

As states before by several other people on here it is an debt collections agency that go's by the name West Assest Management, they have been calling me several times a day as well, when i make the choice to call them it was not even for me, but for a friend of mine who has given me up as a contact person, i informed them that i did not wish to be contacted again however that did not stop them from going on calling me, recently there was some information on TV conserning debt collectors, and i found it to be usefull, Federal Law stats that they can not call before 8 am and after 10pm, also you can force them to stop calling buy sending them letter, make sure that they sign for recieving the letter cause you will need that incase they do not stop calling, oncce they got the letter they have 30 day if i remember corectly to stop calling, and they will have to switch over to just sending letter, there adress is. PO Box 105893, Atlanta GA. 30348-5893, and an second adress is PO Box 2348, Sherman TX 75091-2348.

They have called my parent's house, asking for me. Funny thing is I haven't lived at home for over 4 years now, and even have a different phone number (obviously).

A similar situation happened last year. I got a call from a collection agency (my dad did, actually). And I called them back to be told it was for something I never even ordered.

I wrote a very calm, professional letter advising they provide me (in writing) with what was purchased, with whom it was purchased for, and when it was purchased before I would settle.

Never heard from them again.

I keep getting calls from West Asset Mgmt; sometimes 3 times a day. I do NOT owe anyone a penny excpet for my mortgage which is current. A few years ago I had an MRI - the hospital sent the bill incorrectly to 13th Street. I live on 130th street - the hospital turned me over to West Asset Mgmt collections in 60 days (how caring of them). I settled directly with the hospital and my credit report shows I am free and clear of that bill. By the way - the only way I found out I owed the hospital money was when I refinanced my house; the and bill showed up on a credit report. Still West Asset Mgmt continues to call. I have answered the phone and they will not tell me what they want unless I tell them my name. I told them whatever it is they can send it in the mail. The lady kept asking if I was xxx and I said no. Then she said disgustedly We will continue to call - true to her word they do. Most of the time no message is left. I am going to make a formal complaint with FCC and BBB. I have asked for them to remove my name but they say they are not selling anything and don't have to - they have quite an attitude. I say if you answer the phone to be as rude as you possibly can - or say you are going to go get that person and leave the phone dangling or blow a whistle in the phone. Serves the jerks properly!
