I keep hearing everyone mention T&C, but I have no idea what that is or where to find it. This site recommended Superior debt relief for me, which is debt settlement not debt consolidation. Has anyone used this company, or any other settlement company, that could tell me how their experience was? Does it really work? They want me to not pay my bills and only pay them for 6 months, then they said they will negotiate for me, and get it down to just 50% of what I owe. Does that work or will I only screw myself?

debt settlement will reduce your unsecured debt (typically credit card debt) by 50%...give or take. You will see a drop in your FICO while you are enrolled in the program, but after the program is complete your FICO is much higher than it was before you began your settlement account. Superior debt relief pays for credit restoration after the program is complete (most other companies charge for this service). If this sounds like the program for you then you should contact them about your accounts. Keep in mind that if your debts are secured (house, car, etc) then they do not qualify for the program.

Hi Smosh

debt settlements work in this process only. Since the settlement company will be trying to negotiate with your creditors for a settled amount, there is a process of working on this situation. You will have your contract in writing with the company so there is nothing to worry about. Read the contract carefully and get all your queries cleared by them. BBB gives a good feedback about them. So, you must give a try in order to have your debt reduced to a large extent.

Everyone so far has just said I should give it a shot, go for it, do it! You all sound like you work for the company. I understand how the program is SUPPOSED to work, but is there anyone out there that has actually tried debt settlement before??

Obviously not paying my bills for the next 6 months could get me in a lot of trouble, so I was hoping to hear from people that have tried this before... anyone?

No, I know that I don't work for the company. I was speaking in general terms about how the settlement program works. Besides, there are facts in the BBB about Superior debt relief which I was relaying you. It's just that! You can talk with other companies also offering settlement programs and then do a deep comparison.

There are people here who have taken the settlement programs and will shed some light on it. You might have to wait for someone to come here.
