Hi. I have been trying for months to get Action Card(Bankfirst) to resolve an account that was paid off in 2003. I am not getting anywhere with them. They give me an 800 number, but in order to speak with someone you have to put in your account number. Which I do, however the # doesn't work because it doesn't exsist anymore. I need this taken care of because it shows on my credit report. Help

Hi,

You can take the help of the credit bureau and explain your problem. File a dispute highlighting the item and request them for verification. They will conduct an investigation with your information providers. If the item is found incorrect in the file, it will be updated and you will be sent a free copy at your mailing address.

I had the same issue. I requested in Dec04 for Equifax to investigate because BankFirst said they already reported the correction. Well, it's May06 and it's still there. I called and can't even get a person on the phone! You hit 0 and it hangs up on you.

Kerry, did you request for the results of the investigation done by the CRA? By law, they are required to give the detailed explanation if you request for it. They will have to submit it along with that default letter of 'your dispute has been verified and found to be correct'

I think you should involve the bureau once again into some busy work.
