My letter to Quik payday--Jarem S.(my rep)
Date: Tue, 05/02/2006 - 06:41
With due respect to your companies offer, I am considering you, providing that you or your company can provide me with the following information:
1. Is Quik Payday licensed to due business in the state of Alabama? Can you provide me with your license number so that it may be verified by myself or my attorney?
2. Has your company ever read the State of Alabama Banking Department regulations for Deferred payment loan providers? If so, you guys would clearly know that you are not allowed to renew or "roll-over" a transaction more than one time without a payment to the principal amount. I was informed of this information by the Attorney Generals' office directly, who I am in contact with at this time. I am forwarding the names of all the companies I have done business with and copies of the contracts that were intiated with me. They have been very interested in the practices of the internet providers to say the least and are investigating it at this time.
3. Over the past year or so I have paid your company 1000's of dollars in renewal fees and have more than paid any loan at least 10 times over. If I am not mistaken your company has even charged more than the maximum amount of interest allowed.
I, in good faith, included your company in my agreement with T & C because I wanted to honor my debt, by after close evaluation I am reconsidering my options. Like I said, please provide me in writing or e-mail (which I can print) the above information and I will make let you know of my decision. All further contact can be done through email or writing, you cannot reach me any other way.
Thank you for your speedy attention to this matter and I look forward to hearing from you soon.
Thank you,
Stephanie Cocke

Tammy--Do not worry, I am not giving them any of my information, if and when I decide to pay them anything it will be through T & C or a money order. You seem to have had some success in challenging these guys, I just am sure of me having a legal leg to stand on. I cannot find any record of them having a license. Do they go by any other name that I may have missed? I checked my pm's and nothing was in there, I'll keep checking. Thanks, Stephanie

Hi Stephanie
You can get the info from the attorney general in your state and know if Quick Payday is licensed to do business in your state. You can also get this info from the consumer protection office or the licensing authorities of your state.
Keep doing your correspondences with Quick Payday. Although they have not given you the required information yet, you can keep sending letters to them and cover your basis. Facts will come out within a short period of time.
