You can save them up to as high as you may want them to get. Most people use there to pay of some sort of debt they owe. And it is true, they do give you money for them. It's a great thing they have going on here.

Posts in the Pub. folder don't qualify for points, and they don't show up in those folders..If you look at your posts in other folders, you'll see how many points you have.
Each point is equivelent to 1 cent. So when you get to 1000 points, you have earned $10.
