I am about to apply for debt consolidation with a 501.c3 company (United Financials), I need to reduce my monthly payments temporarily, does anybody know if I can go into this program and get out of it at any time, they have mentioned to me that It is possible. I will appreciate any information. Thanks

cvera, you should be able to leave the program at any time. However, your interest rates will all revert back to what they were originally. If you leave early on in the program, and you were behind on your bills when you started, you be considered behind again if your accounts have not been re-aged. Finally, if you do leave, many creditors will not allow you to enroll in another dmp for a long period of time, some for as long as 5 years. A DMP is really meant to be a long term solution for you to pay off your debts completely, not a quick fix for you to get caught up and then revert back to old habits. Please take these things into consideration before enrolling. But yes, you can leave at any time.
