Hi amberreyes1979
Check with the Dept of Corporation in California and put a search on National Payday Advance.
I will try to come up with some more accurate searches in the meanwhile.
You can send a cease and desist letter to the payday loan company and stop them from calling you repeatedly. Offer them a payment plan after reviewing your account in writing. Try to resolve the problem if they are licensed in CA.

They harrassed my mother and friend for the money and called my employer. I have taken care of this situation but I dont want anyone else to go through this. I sent a complaint to the BBB and the FTC and would suggest everyone do the same.

Harassing e-mails - complaint addy
FYI, as of May 2009, the domain is registered through GoDaddy, and the site is supposedly hosted by Alabanza. I'm not going to post the WHOIS info for cash-advance.us because I suspect it's fake.
To complain about "harrassing e-mails from your customer, cash-advance.us" try forwarding the e-mails (with complete headers) to "abuse@alabanza.com" and "abuse@navisite.com" - no guarantees, though.

This is so ironic that I found this website. Yesterday, I received a phone call from a gentlemen with a heavy Indian accent who said his name was Chris Martin. He stated that I owed National Payday some money, he never stated a particular amount. He repeated my father and friend's name and stated that someone would be coming to my home and taking me and my father and friend to court. He stated that I would be sued for $5,000.00. Well, of course I went bullistic, and started asking him question about his company. He stumbled over his words and then transferred to, who was supposed to be a come supervisor. The supervisor ask me not to interrupt him until he was completed reading the information against me. He as me had I ever been convicted of any crimes, fruad or theft. I told him that he sounded automated and I didn't believe a word he was saying. I began praying in his ear right over the phone, he got completely silent and he said he wanted no more information from me, and stated that he was not from an attorney's but from customer service and gave me some phone number that
stayed busy all day. Thank you for putting this information out here for honest hard working people who are in this country earning their money honestly. I hope that some type of federal or international legal entities can get involved to arrest these individuals ASAP. What can we do as Americans to stop international fraud and deception of this kind?

thanks for posting this. I had the same thing happen to me. they said don't interrupt me until I am finished speaking and read me this whole thing about how they were going to contact my work and charge me with fraud and that I owed them over a 1,000 dollars and that I needed to be transferred and pay the amount by that day with my credit card. I quickly told them I did not have a credit card and they said go to walmart and get a visa gift card and call them back. I had taken out a pay day loan but not from this company. I don't know where they got my email information from. I hope they get arrested. the number they gave me was alwasy busy and then at night it says it is disconnected. Crazy.

Besides following the advice of my post above, they are lying through their teeth. Warn your work that you suspect that a scam company may be calling work and it is not your fault, but you are dealing with the situation.
And if they send you the note like the poster above, you can sue them for a flagrant FDCPA violation (they are LYING when they mention Fraud or Criminal charges).
If you have already paid them the principal (the amount you borrowed), then send them a Cease & Desist letter and tell them to buzz off. Since they are unlicensed, they are for all intents and purposes *illegal* and can't (and won't) attempt to prosecute you for anything at all. (Plus, they are in Costa Rica and hence won't go anywhere *near* a US courtroom. See "http://whois.domaintools.com/nationalpayday.com")
All they have is words. But they sure can deliver a lot of them. And will.

I also received fake call from a Florida based number. They were speaking in very bad English, claiming to be calling from government agency who is ready to initiate legal action due to unpaid internet loan advance of USD 450. They threatened of legal consequences and offered 'Out of Court' settlement if I fax them credit card details and authorization.
Please do not fall for the scam. I made a quick search on google and found many similar cases. With that confidence I called them back to cross question and they quickly ended the call.
