Aspire Visa stated that if I made 6 ontime payments to them they would remove the charge off status and place paid as agreed and I have been paying them before the due date and they have changed the status on my credit report to paid as agreed. They lowered the interest rate as promised also. My credit score went from 550 to 615 by disputing information and Aspire keeping their promise. I know I have a long ways to go to get my score higher, but at least this is a start. Now once HSBC reports paid collections, will my score drop or will it increase?

Hi Tammy

Paid collections will definitely leave a better impact than unpaid collection. Moreover, you will put a good impression in front of your future lenders. They will know that though the account was sent to collections, you have taken the responsibility of paying the account. So, you will have two benefits out of this i.e.. Your credit will be viewed more favorably and your scores will also go up

And on another good Aspire note - they charged a yearly fee to my account which made me go over the credit limit and therefore I got a small fee for this. I was very flustered as I was expecting the yearly to go on the next month - I called them and they removed the over limit fee because I was a "Valued customer". It just goes to show that making a call or sending an email doesn't hurt!
