I was wondering how long it normally takes someone to get out of debt with your help when they have about 5000 worth of debt? Thanks for your time!

Hi gmills03

Your debt consultant will first review all the accounts and the payments made over it. If the accounts have been past due, the consultant will negotiate with the creditors to reduce the financial charges, late fees from the total amount.

After analyzing your financial situation, you will be offered various repayment plans. You can choose the best one that suits to your present financial needs. Remember, if you make larger payments, the tenure of the plan will be shorter and you will become debt free sooner. However, if you keep the monthly payments low, the tenure will be comparatively longer.

You will get a call from the consultant shortly for reviewing your debt accounts. He will be able to tell you the specific time period required in the consolidation program. Usually, you can become debt free within a period of 2 to 4 years depending upon the total amount of debt.
