I have another question. It seems like i'm running into a lot of crazy collection agencies that love to lie. This pass weekend I received a call from a Derek at Sprint (that's what he told me)and he told me that i had a past due amt. 310.00. I agreed that i will pay 20.00 a amt. until I'm able to pay a higher amt. I gave him my bank account no.(I know this is bad)and have him to take 20.00 plus $5.00 chrg from the bank, and told me this SHOULD NOT be on your credit report since you are paying this off. When I look to review my credit, I saw a credit agency on there named receivable performances. Well, I find out that this derek person had lied to me. I explain to ms.akica bibbs what derek had told me on the phone. The real bad part about it was he was unprofessional as i heard a party in the background and him laughing with his co-workers. She explain that the 25.00 that was taken from my account was a one time thing and I told her, he claimed he was from sprint, when in fact, he work for receivable performance. he lied when he told me that it will not show up on your credit report, and that they will take 20.00 each 30th of the month out of my savings account. I was furious. Is there a way to report this type of action?

You have to do some work now and put everything in place. First, talk to your bank and close your checking account. It might be possible that the company will make a debit again next month since they have your info.

You must have learnt now that verbal communications don't have any value if you want to prove anything. Next time, when any company calls you asking for money, get it in writing from them. The CAs are required under federal laws to validate the debt. The details must be put in writing. It should identify the actual company and calculation of the debt amount. You must make commitment only after you have reviewed the details. Do not propose to send any money without written info.

I fear you won't get the money back from them but you must file your complaints at the local AG's office and at the FTC and the BBB. It is important for others to know about the company's illegal activities. This will force the authorities to check their conduct violations.

I appreciate this information. I filed a complaint with the ftc against them. I will go to the bbb on them as well. I also report them on my credit report
too. I think most collection agencies scam artists. It helps to know that there are others like myself that are going through the same problems i am and knowledge of my rights helps me out a lot Thanks to both of you.
