Oh what a day today. I got a call from a lady at a pld lender in Delaware that I filed a complaint against. They must have received it from the bank commissioner's office because this is the first phone call that I've had from them. They are liked United Cash Loans and ignore correspondence. Anyway, she asks me what the problem what and we had a relationship of three years, blah blah blah. She caught me on a bad day but I was nice as could be in my frame of mind. I told her that she just broke a do not call order by contacting me at work. There was no reason to deny it because I have proof they received it by certified mail. She yaps on about how my work number is on my paperwork. I told her I would discuss it with her later and not at work. I hung up the phone and then ringy ringy. It's that same woman again, wanting to bug me some more. She goes on about how I signed papers so I said you aren't even legal to loan money in my state. BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH! I got her name and phone number after a few attempts. She said she might not be at her desk, meetings, busy, whatever. I stated again that I would not discuss the matter at work and said I would call her later. Not but I will be filing more complaints against this company today. I have several small loans with this company which is not legal in Ohio. This is the same company who kept hitting my closed checking account for three months after the fact and added several hundred dollars onto my account this way. I filed a complaint against them with the AG in Delaware but they said there was no physical address but there is on the website. Also, it also states in their letter that the loan originates in the state of the consumer and I should contact my ag's office. I will be filing a complaint online tonight. I have to send the follow up paperwork for the one that I filed against United Cash Loans last night. I just have to wait to get a case number but it's going to be a full envelope for each complaint. The lady also said she was going to put that I hung up on her in reponse to my complaint. Go ahead, you broke the law by contacting me at work and she was quiet for two seconds. I am so sick of pdl companies but now my mission is reborn and I've got more fight back. :P

Why are you fighting? No one forced you to take out any loans. I have had lots of debts and I am on a 5 year plan with taxes, school loans, and various other debts. I am happy that they are working with me,but I do not expect them to forgive the debts or refund me excess money I have incurred, because I got myself in a financial bind. I am sucking it up and paying what I owe. It makes it harder on honest people, when other people try to get out of legitimate debts, then we are all looked at as trying to get out of our debts. It is called personal responsibility, and it is sorely lacking in many people.

Hi Mishele

Go ahead! You are doing right speaking in terms of law. All companies must follow the "do not call" put in their system. The federal regulator will fine the company for breaking the law. I read online that AT&T was also fined for similar actions by the FTC. They were penalized $10,000 for each call. The authorities should be reported about such actions so that the consumers are offered legal protection.

Record the time and date of the call made in your place of work. If you have that recording, your case will become stronger.

Kitty, read the above post again. The question is about breaking the "do not call" order at work. If the person has a debt with the company, she takes the responsibility to pay it back. The communication with the person can be done in writing also. Does the company need to go beyond lines and do something against the consumers' interests.

Kitty,

I have paid this debt back ten times over, that is where the problem is with this company. They have gotten their money back and more. We are talking payday loans here, online ones. I have paid them in roll over fees and all over stupid fees they have illegaly added onto my account. I'm not running away from any debt that I incurred. This is a lender who has violated state and federal laws and I am just not going to let them get away with it.

PDL Avenger---Evidently the "guest" that insinuated you were trying to get out of a debt does not know that we support each other on this site and do not condemn others for only wanting what is rightfully theirs. You have ever right to file any and all complaints against an illegal company.

KittyCat,
We're all honest people from what I can ascertain. But after you find out that these people aren't liscenced in your state or they've used some loopholee to exploit you with, you get pretty upset. Then they have the gall to harass you after you've paid the debt several time over in fees? I don't think any of us in here are tying to get out of paying our debt. But we do want to have a way to borrow without having to resort to 400-900 percent interest. To make matters worse, the lenders backing these companies wouldn't give you a crumb at a reasonable rate, but they'll charge you high azzed interest knowing that it'll get you further in debt and that they might not get their money back, though they will make as much as 10 times the loan value in fees alone.
