First off,it's my own fault for falling into this trap in the first place but I currently have 6 payday loans outstanding for 6 different companies. For most if not all of them I was required to enter in references and I entered in the names and telephone numbers of 2 friends. Now I don't care if they know that I had financial problems but if the accounts go into default (I have no other option, I will be making $120 on my next paycheck for two weeks if I don't) will these companies be calling them all the time. My next payday isn't until the 19th so I have time to call or write whoever neccasary so my friends don't get bugged. Thanks for whoever replies.

Antonio, I will close my checking account before they take out money from there. It will be better if you can explain your problems to the lenders and arrange a payment plan with them. If you can assure that you take the responsibility of paying the account, the lenders will not sound to be a problem. Notify your friends also about this situation so that they act accordingly. If they are being contacted, ask them to write a cease and desist letter. Hope everything works well at your end.

Antonio, John is right..I had success by closing my accounts and contacting the payday loan people with proposed payment arrangements before I even defaulted. I would've never gotten out of the trap if I hadn't. It worked for me to communicate with the lenders by mail..I sent each of them a letter with a payment schedule and also told them that i would not under any circumstances discuss this business on the phone. If they needed to contact me they could reach me by email or postal mail. If you are keeping in contact with them then there is absolutely no reason for them to contact your references. The lenders for the most part were willing to work with me and meet my terms, but I did have a few ugly ones. I never had problems with phone calls, though.

antonio, the advice above is right on the nose, one additional word of advice make sure you set up payments you can afford... one way to do it is to figure out the total amount you can afford to pay and divide it equally among the loans. some of your lenders may try and get you to pay more, but stick to your gones, it is better to pay amounts you know you can make than promise amounts y ou cannot afford
