Does anybody know who verifies Nextcard's info now. I wonder if they will respond to validation.

Now owned by Asset Acceptance. I wonder what real paperwork they have. Who knows it might even be one of the accounts classified as fraud by Nextcard before it went down.

Send a debt validation letter to Asset Acceptance through certified mail with return receipt requested. You should get the mailing back marked accordingly. If they don't accept your mail, contact the bureau and request them to investigate with the CA.

I will also prefer getting in touch with NextCard and inquire about the accounts. They must have the details of your accounts and the collection agency hired for the purpose.

PS... nextcard itself has been gone now for YEARS.

It's not actually nextcard you are dealing with anymore, and nextcard has no website of its own anymore... probably either the FDIC or else some debt collection company that was hired to handle nextcard's accounts and set up a website to direct people who might have questions.

With all the articles I've seen concerning NextCard, not one of them has pointed out that it cost $250 in start-up fees in order to activate the account. That's all I had in my balance --- $250 when they sent me a letter basically telling me "tough luck!". I was obligated to pay it even after NexCard filed for bankruptcy.
