Are there any Chicago area people in here? Particularly the west suburbs (Darien, Napreville, Downers Grove, Woodridge, ETC) Here? would anyone be interested in forming something like a DCC Regional Social Club? Just a thought.. Looking forward to any responses.

I wouldn't necessarily say "powerful" more interested in seeing how many people in this area have found this web site, and maybe see if there is any interest in starting a Social network with a common concern.

Pretty much any "powerful" stuff I have I post for the community as a whole.

Clay

An extra-ordinary idea! And it could not have at a better time. I was wondering about something similar too. How about this:

Some of the community members could be regional volunteers to manage the Regional Social Club that you have proposed, for example, you could take charge of the Chicago area. Let's get more people involved and decide how we can go about it.

DCC is today a community of a rather large number of users, but there are many people who have not been introduced to this site yet. I'm sure those unfortunate souls will find DCC a big help.

If we could reach the people in the real world and introduce them to our forums, just imagine the kind of impact it could have on the lives of the average American. We could be a movement, and meet each other in real, in our regional conferences and then may be the national conference, each of us wearing little badges with the official DCC logo. Is that a dream? May be. But everything starts with a dream and the Regional Social Club could be the very starting point.

Hey Clay...let's make this work!

Cheers

I'd love to do this! My question is though, should we do it by regions within the state, the state itself or reguons of the country? :?

Hi Jessi

Thank you so much for taking this initiative. We can form a strong community representing the different regions of the US. This forum will be a perfect platform to share the opinions and ideas of everyone. We can work out ways so that social injustice can be eliminated from the base.

Hi dcashwell3, thanks for bringing yourself in the front. We will work out some systematic plans so that all discussions can take place in an orderly manner. Everyone's participation will be highly appreciated.

Regards
Vikas

I'm glad to do Chicago/NE Illinois.. IF someone want to do a midwest regional thing I would be glad to help on that too...

I think to start off with City/States groups would be a good jumping off point. AS they grow, then we could go into geographical regions...HEy Vikas and every one else any input or suggestion you have n getting this idea off the ground would be welcome..

I have a group, now I just need members!

How about REQUIRING their location? this would help in many ways People often come here looking for specific advice.

We all know this varies from state to state, and knowing this information will help someone who want to help get a head start instead of having to post asking that person where they are from, and then waiting for a response before being able to start looking for the requested information. Does that make sense?

Here's a question for you. What if we broke the country up into 10 regions? Once a year DCC could sponsor a debt managment event in each region and one nationally. In keeping with the budget mentioned on the events page, we as volunteers could secure further funding and even advertising at no cost and publicity.

I'm an event planner and I'd LOVE to do this!
