I have a judgement on my credit report from a few years ago. It was from a dental surgery my father paid. His check bounced and they did not have my contact information. A year later I was served court papers and my wages were garnished. The debt has been paid for 2 years. I want to know if I can dispute this because to my knowledge the debt was paid?

stella is correct. You can not have the judgement removed from your report. You can, however, have it reported as paid. This is better than having an unpaid judgement. You will not be completely rid of the negative effects of the judgement until it falls off of your credit report, which will take time.

I have on my credit report a judgement that has been paid. Would this be a problem in future lending? and would it be removed after 7 years?

I had a judgement that was put on my credit report a little then a year ago. I disputed it online with all three credit reports and believe it or not it was deleted. It took 2 request from equifax but they deleted on the second attempt made by me. Now experian will take about 3 to 4 tries before they actually get tired and just delete the judgement. Remember that most courts only list judgement under file numbers not ssn#. Therefore we diputing let the credit company know that you have checked with the court and there are no files that show a judgement listed under your name and SSN#. I hope this helps
