I'm glad it has worked out, but be careful. Make sure that they no longer have permission to debit your account. Some companies have been known to debit long after they have been paid in full.

Jolie, request your bank to keep a check on CashNet USA. Instruct them not to allow further debit from your checking account. Since they have your present account info, you can also think of closing this and open a new one. Make arrangements with CashNet USA in writing and pay them as scheduled. Never do business with them in the future.

I thought that they weren't allowed to check your credit because it's a payday loan and most of them did not rely on your credit score? I dunno.

I'll have my husband pull his report. He hasn't checked it for at least two years.

They normally will check Teletrack and not a regular credit bureau file, that is what happened when I was in the pdl cycle. I'm glad to hear the bank reversed the charges but check to see if you can block their id code to stop future debits from your account. PDL companies have been known to try anything to get the money from your account.

On Monday, I called the bank to put a stop payment on cashnet explaining they are practicing illegally with usury laws. The stop was started but then stopped. Nobody from my bank called me! This morning I am in the red. I faxed cashnet my letter restricting them from my account which they acknowledged via email they received it. They had plenty of time to stop any transactions because they not only changed my debt from $175.00 they took $875.00 from me. I am waiting for the bank manager to come in so I can file a dispute and ask them to honor my bills that come through. Obviously my banks customer service sucks because why was my request to stop payment not completed and why didn't they call me? I had 4 days prior to this debit to follow through yet my bank never alerted me that my request was not processed. Who is really responsible here!

Yea Sue, it sucks big time. I am waiting for the bank manager to get in and take my letter, my email from them and my documented request to stop payment. I even have the dim wits name from customer service that screwed this up. Screw the dispute, I want my money back TODAY. Why can't they reverse it?

I would think they could, you may have to make a trip there but I know when I've wanted to stop an ACH at our credit union they can. It may take a day or so to get the funds back in there but they've been able to reverse. I hope it's not the different between a bank and a credit union for your sake though.

I just got back from the bank. Their system was down so thank goodness I brought copies of everything. I explained the whole thing to the manager. She said she will refund any nonsuffient funds from last night (there is one) and give me a temporary credit so my bills will pay. I need to fill out a dispute form which she will fax to me when their system is up. She copied my usury letter I sent to them and their email stating they got it via fax and they only have to comply with New Mexico law. Now I am going on the website that shows the laws per state and file a complaint. One more thing is a membe from this board said they pushed through an e-check which I believe is illegal and got their money that way. So, I am going to open a second checking account, On monday when my auto payment clears (manager said she would clear it for me), I am transferring all my money to my new account and leave the old one open to see what else they try to do. I want all the ammo on these guys I can get.

Linnie,

I'm sorry that you had to go through this today. Where did they come up with that amount at? That doesn't make sense to me. PM me with some basic info like the state you live in, etc. I can come up with a lot more info for you. I thought Cashnet was based out of Utah? Hmmm, pm me and I will get back to you.

I got a refund from my bank. They are going to pursue for the debit. Since the pdl acknowledged receiving my letter and in the letter I did state that I revoke all future electronic funds transfer from that day forward, it was illegal for the pdl to submit a debit on my account. So glad I have good book keeping! I also wrote a letter to the bank commissioner. They will pursue the complaint

Well, I really need to thank everyone here on this website because it's helped us out tremendously. I put in a complaint about this company to the BBB here in California and in the state they're located in a couple of days ago and I already got a response from this place through the BBB.

"To whom it may concern:
we have researched the account belonging to this customer. This customer did not contact us once regarding any problem about his account. It was sent to our accelerated collection dept, and he has also refused to pay. The facts are the customer did not even pay the original balance on the account before going into collections due to a closed account. Although we believe all the terms and conditions have been met, we will assist Mr. XXXXX by writing off his balance. His information has been permanently barred from our company and all of our affiliates for future reference.
Thank you."

So I responded that they send a letter confirming that this account is paid in full and to stop collections and remove it from his credit file with all bureaus immediately. Sooooooooo we're happy!! One down and a few more to go!!

Again Thanks to everyone and thanks to site especially. We couldnt've (sp) done it without you!!!!
