Unfortunately when I was applying for payday loans I got caught up in this mess with this company who added charges to my phone bill without my consent.
Apparently one of the pdl's either sold my account or phone number to them...
Just received an alert from Fl.Atty.General's Office regarding this:

http://www.charliecrist.com/

Watch your phone bills and any other utilities you may have and report this immediately...

I found this message when I googled Nationwide Assist...

I've never applied for any payday loans but I do have a charge from them on my phone bill this month for Nationwide Assist Voice Mail Service... a 12.95 Monthly fee. I called them and they assured me I would be credited... they said that MY DAUGHTER... who is not listed on the phone account... had requested the service through a website for SAVINGS !!!

I told them she was not authorized to make that choice and all he would say was that he had halted the service and credited my account for this month and NEXT month because it had already been processed for next month !

I was just wondering how I could complain and get these a**holes back for charging this $12.95 fee every month. I just so happened to decided to scan over my phone bill and found it on mine too. Does anyone know of a local number to call someone about this crap. I called and they got my husbands name and he's not on my account either seeing how we just got married. How do they get this information and who can I call in my state of NOrth Carolina about it and maybe get a law suit started. Thanks for any advise...

A charge showed up on my April 13th phone bill from Nationwide Assist, LLC for an "EFAX SVC MO FEE". I called the number they listed and talked to someone who said they would cancel the service and credit my April 13th and May 13th phone bills, since they applied the charges on 3/30 and 4/29.

I asked the woman what the service was, and she explained it was a service for emailing faxes. (Why not just email attachments?) Neither me nor my wife would have any interest in such a thing.

She asked me how long we'd had the phone number (over 30 years) and I let her know it looked like a bit of identity theft going on.

She gave me a "confirmation number" that I'll include with my phone bill to explain why I'm not paying for the "enhanced service".

They have just charged my parents phone bill with my information. I looked them up on google and all it shows is to sign up for fax service with free antivirus service from different kinds of software ones i as a gamer would never use. I use much stronger Antivirus software. 5 of them. Anyway if this is a way for a debt collector to get money boy howdy they just tried to screw with the wrong person.
