Judgement Lien

No judgment is valid with a court notice. You must get a summon 20 days before the court hearing. Some attorneys try to give these papers a legal effect but they actually are not directed by the court.

You can confirm yourself with the local county of the court and see if there are any legal papers file against you. It should also be shown in your credit file if it's a legal one.

Just checked county website and it shows judgement was rendered on the 11th of May. It shows that summons was issued but never delivered. This is becoming a problem.

Then you should talk with the company and discuss the matter. Try to get it resolved outside the court. If you can show some payment activity, the company will take the case back

I've been researching this and it's not a credit card debt. It's from a real estate transaction that was completed in 2003. There was a lien on the property and it was paid also, but it did not post and lien was paid again. Title insurance company is trying to collect 2nd payment from me. This sounds like s scam to me.

Have you checked the latest copy of your credit file? See the latest status of this account. Ask for proof from the insurance company that you owe them. There has to be a valid explanation before you make a payment

The great ironic thing of this is, I'm not the one that received the money from the payoff. I'll be going after them tomorrow.
