I've never seen it this bad..Earlier I got tired of sifting through it and logged off. Not only did these creeps post a zillion new threads, but they put their junk on a whole bunch of old stuff too. It's ok..I know that when I come back on tomorrow afternoon everything will be back to normal again.

Hey Vikas, I know this may be an extreme suggestion, but what if you were to put some sort of authintication when people log in that changes? I have noticed a few of the forums I frequent use a little box with a series of letter and numbers to to authentication. What if you were to use something similar to gain access to the foums?

Can someone explain how this kind of garbage can be considered as "advertising" for a company? Why does it always look like it is written in code? Always sounds like a bunch of nonsense. It seems like if you wanted people to buy your products your time would be better spent writing copy people could understand!

Hi Lorri and Sue-
Some sites allow the use of html, and certain codes. Some sites use < & > for inserting links, while DCC uses [ & ]. Because of this, these automatic robots are inserting what they think will allow actual links.
Another member has suggested to Vikas, that an authentication code be entered for non-members. You'll see this on certain sites, and even some banking sites.
Hopefully, we'll be able to gain control of these robots, and eliminate the garbage.

Mike

Thanks for explaining it Mike. I figured it had something to do with html coding but I literally know nothing about that and would like it to stay that way in my life, lol. This site is great and I really appreciate all the hard work you all do to maintain it and keep the garbage out.
