I don't know if this has been brought up before or not. I was looking up info on Washington PDL laws and saw that the Moneytree CEO was part of this group Financial Service Centers. I googled it and based on what I have had to deal with with PDL's I was pretty disgusted by what I was reading. They make it sound like it is such an important part of the American economy and that it is totally legitimate and a good way for people to get money. It provides "freedom to manage personal finances". Whatever!!!! I certainly don't feel free. I acknowledge my bad money management but I don't think these companies are about freedom for their customers. Like we keep saying "Its a trap". They make it sound so noble. Sheesh. Ok, I'll let it go. Just wanted to put this out there for anyone interested.

Sorry I didn't put in specific quotes. I wanted to put the website on here but I know we aren't really supposed to do that. If you google FISCA you can find the website.
Here is one interesting quote... "While financial service center businesses touch the lives of millions of Americans, misconceptions still exist about our industry, the services we provide and the consumers we serve. A sign that progress is being made at overcoming these myths is in the growing number of partnerships between FiSCA members and banks and credit unions."
They have a brochure for banks called "Check Cashers are Good Bank Customers" .
One thing that would be good to look at is the "Financial Service Centers of America Announces
Ethical Code of Conduct for Payday Advance Lending
To Military Personnel". Whether all of the companies we have had to deal with are members of Financial Service Centers I don't know but if they are they certainly aren't following all their rules.
Thats just a few things on the website. It's just interesting to see how these companies perceive themselves.
