I had a call today from a woman named Kathleen telling me that $50 was not enough for a payment and since previous payments had failed that I needed to contact my lawyer and contact them back within 48 hours with this info because I was unwilling to make payments. They have told me in the past what amount I had to pay and wouldn't settle for less so by the time it was due I couldn't get the money. So what should I do? I don't want to go to court or jail or anything like that. I am just scared. What can they do? I live in Delaware. Can someone please help! She wants $380 within 48 hours by moneygram and there is just no way I can do it.

Most of the companies use these methods to recover the money from the people overnight. They seem hard in accepting your proposal. I will suggest you to make a payment that you can afford and send it through moneygram. If they cash the check, your proposal will be considered as accepted. In case they don't accept and take the matter to the court, the judge will get an impression that you tried to make a payment. Your payment activity will be considered very important showing your responsibility. In most of the cases, these lenders don't intend to take the matter that far. Just pay as much as you can afford and be sure to have a proof of the payment.

Have sent two valadation letters to them. Got a call tellimg me they never rec'd them. Have CMRRR cards - now they want me to fax them to a supervisor. Something does not sound right?? They claim the were not sent to the right office, use the NM address and someone signed for them and had my reference number on the letter. What gives??

Guest, you have covered your base with the CMRRR number. The company has to give the details of your debt before asking for a payment. Don't get intimidated by them. You can also try to get some information from the original creditor regarding this matter. If your account is with them, you won't have to deal with the CA. Explain your situation so that arrangements can be made for you.
