Aliya, if you browse this forum, you can understand this is a process of collecting money from you. They have threatened many in the same way in past.
Try to enter into a payment plan. Insist them to accept an affordable monthly amount. Also inform your employer about the situation. Since everybody knows the problem with payday loans nowadays, I hope your employer will cooperate with you. Keep us posted.
My Question to Community: If a lender starts blackmailing the consumers that they have tracked their IP address and will contact the host, isn't it considered a very very bad Privacy Policy on their part? Please understand being default on a loan is not a criminal offense.

Stella, yes. I consider it s a very bad privacy policy and to threaten turning in the documents to the consumer's employer is also very bad.

So, what possible actions should be taken against such companies making threats? They must be called to resolve the complaint to your satisfaction. If you don't get the results, they should be immediately reported to the BBB for severe violation of the privacy policies.
I would also write your state's attorney general's office regard
I would also write your state's attorney general's office regarding this matter. I believe making such accusations could be illegal and disclosing the information to your employer also may wrong. I do not believe they can just go around and let everybody know your personal business. This is a common threat from them but still be careful.
aliyah, the above post is quite correct, what was told to you is
aliyah, the above post is quite correct, what was told to you is illegal. gather as much information as you can and file a complaint with your state attorney general's office
laws
know the laws in your state when it comes to 1st party collections (new jersey) none!!!!.... before you start talking about something you know nothing about.filing compliants with the a/g or bbb thats cool because thier are always 2 sides to every story.
maybe it would have been better if you just put a ski mask on and robbed a bank, since you think its ok to just 2 take out as many loans as you can and not pay them back.... then run to this site and see what you can do to get out of paying your just owed debt

ipaymybills, okay, how did you know the person was from NJ (if that s true). I believe you are just a debt collector masquarading as a guest on the forum. What the matter? Are you scared that people are becoming educated on how the debt collectors should behave? If you treat others with the respect and comply with the FDPCA laws, then you will see money. Mmkay?
No one here is trying to run off with the money and not paying back. Majority of us here are trying to make goods on what we took out. However, the main issue here is the behavior and uncooperativness of the collection agents. Coming forth with the threats they can not follow through is illegal. Harrassment is illegal.
pay attention
what part of 1st party not collection agency did you not understand, in the state of new jersey the fdcpa does not apply to the original creditor, and if ms aliya doesn't want to take care of her obligation she's the one that has to live with it not me.
again educate yourself on original creditor and read the post before you spew something you know nothing about
aliya nicole
if the person above that posted is not smart enough to not use her own name then that is not my fault, no one is scared here if any thing it's a shame that the owner of this site does not monitor it more often. because talk about mis information wow! again you should educate yourself about the laws in NJ there are none when you are the original creditor.... so put that in your big witches brew of how many ways to not pay a creditor
  Again, how did you know she was from New Jerse

Again, how did you know she was from New Jersey? Why are you so concerned with what she does with her debt?
Yes, I am well aware of the fdcpa laws and how it applies to collection agencies. Again, I was speaking of the COLLECTION AGENTS not the original creditor. Maybe you SHOULD read my post. ;)
read the post
she used her real name, not to brite you you owe everyone under the sun....creditor's look at these sites as well, this is an open forum right? maybe you could suggest that the person get a 2nd or 3rd job to pay off the lender instead of advising them on what to do to not pay the debt
ipaymybills, Go somewhere else with your negative attitude.
ipaymybills,
Go somewhere else with your negative attitude. No one is advising anyone on how to not pay their bills. READ THE POSTS and you will understand. We are all here to help each other!
previous post
nothing negative here just the truth, and for some reason noone on this sight wants the truth only candy coated soap opera posts, its funny that when true facts are stated, everyone skates around that. it's not my fault that the original person who posted used the same name and email she did when she got the $$$.
show me one post here that talks about paying the bill not about how to get out of paying it???
and if they are not smart enough 2 use there personal email not thier employers email that is for business purposes only that shame on them!
ipaymybills I think you are mistaken on judging people here.
ipaymybills
I think you are mistaken on judging people here. No one is trying to escape paying their bills. Everyone is concerned about the general practices used by some collection agencies that sometimes sound against the law. Do you have any advice for us?
john reply
yes pay your bills like everyone else. don't over extend yourself, get a 2nd or 3rd job to take care of your just owed debts. it's amazing when everyone wants to borrow the $$$ the payday loan company is thier best friend , but when it comes time to pay it back they are the bad guys, i have reviewed most of these different forums and usually the only thing that is discussed is how not to pay. never have i read something from a moderator that would possibly suggest a partime job to pay thier debt. what's even more aamazing the same people that post daily are the ones with multiple loans that can't pay. maybe if less time was spent on this sight venting about how they can't pay and more time was spent looking for 2nd or 3rd job..... interests rates would be lower for all of the people that work hjard and pay thier bills!
I do not need to respond to you but here it goes. I work 2 jobs
I do not need to respond to you but here it goes. I work 2 jobs (second job was to help with payday debt...Yes, I was stupid to fall for the trap of the payday cycles and learned my lesson) Sometimes, when one was desperate and did not know what to do, payday advance was a easy way out or so it seemed. So walk in other person's shoes a mile before you spew judgement.
Unless you have sound advice for people who need help (sometimes 2nd or 3rd job is not feasible) , keep the judgements to yourself. Thank you.

You sound like a recording device with the same cursing comments? Your posts have no life. Are you an automated device?
above post
i have noticed that you are all over this sight at all times day and night but i haven't seen anything positive about helping someone to get out of debt only to avoid paying. i would have 2 question the 2 job bit because if i'm not mistaken i'll have to check but you were on one of the other bash sites , whimpering about how u could not pay
reply to john
yes pay your bills like everyone else. don't over extend yourself, get a 2nd or 3rd job to take care of your just owed debts. did you not read this john, whaat would your advise be?

ipaymybills,
why do you criticize everyone else? We are all people who are trying to better ourselves..No one here is trying to get out of paying anyone, we just want to pay our bills in a FAIR manner. Just because we've had some financial troubles doesn't mean that we need to be ripped off..Or dogged by you. If you have something constructive to add, then add it. Otherwise, please stop. And by the way...What are YOU doing here?
above post
this is an open forum is it not? or is this only for people who don't pay thier bills and post on this site most of thier waking life. i gave some possitive ideas on how to pay your bills. the funny thing is noone here wants to hear that (the truth)i not trying to criticize anyone... but after awhile of this pussyfooting skating around the real issue this sight does become a 24hr soap opera for debtors.... maybe if some of these people spent as much time writing to thier creditors for help versus venting all day here they could maybe get out of debt!!!

Well then..maybe you should also get a life since you've spend the last 2 hours on here.
Also, may I suggest some creative writing classes? Or perhaps just some general vocabulary and spelling help?
You're advice is here is null and void and your childish posts here are nothing but boring.

Why don't you step up, then? Tell us your story? You must really like it here and have some sort of need for it if you're checking back to your posts so frequently....Don't worry...None of US are going to judge YOU. We're cool like that.

I think ipaymybills is bored and has nothing better to do but bash us people trying to straighten out our finances and our credit reports. It just amazes me how he can come in here and post some of the most craziest things. No one is judged here and I wish he would identify himself instead of hiding and bashing people.

Ok, ipaymybills...You say that you have some positive ideas for people here...Then why not share them? We are more than willing to here what you have to say, as long as you say it without belittling us and questioning our intelligence. That's not fair. Have you never made mistakes? Yes this is an open forum...What you don't understand is that when you get into a bad financial situation, all you get is people looking down on you. We're here for each other, and we've got each other's backs..We're not trying to make this into a soap opera, and really, we all do work. We're all trying our hardest, and if you really did read through this entire site you'd see that. If you really do have input that's not insulting, I'd love to hear it. I love to hear everyone's perspective. Please respect us, and please don't waste our time or try to damage anyone's morale. Now I've said my piece, and I have nothing else to say on the subject.

I have gone through the whole thread. I think we are being deviated from the topic. The question was, if a lender states that if you don't pay your bill, I will call your employer or kidnap your kids blah blah blah - would it be considered a good practice or not.
I am sure, ipaymybills won't answer to this question instead, he/she/? will say ??? ???if a person borrows money and don't pay it back, is it a good practice????
Why the person is not returning the money? Why? Have you lenders ever tried to get the answer? The answer is simple. You charge extremely high rate of interest. It's true that when a person borrows he/she agrees to the contract. But have you ever disclosed the fact that if they revolve a $100 loan, they might end up paying 600%, 700%, 800% or more apr? According to the Truth in Lending Act, it is mandatory to mention the APR, yes APR, not the renewal charge or loan fees, in the agreement paper, so that people can understand how expensive the loan could be?
ipaymybills, do you obey this policy? If not, you cannot blame consumers for not paying the money back, because you have violated the law first.
BTW, you should also add one para in the contract that if you don't pay the bill, we would be contacting you employer and give a referene of this message board too to show how you harassed others. Then it will become a well-informed credit practice. All the best.
P.S. Mary pls add a good smiley below, lol.
some people can't read
one more time since no one here wants to read what to do to get out of debt.... 1st of all turn off jerry springer put down the remote and get out the paper look for a job!!!! stop living off the government... i read threads too most of you don't work!!!
1 more time for those who choose to ignore common sense.
pay your bills like everyone else. don't over extend yourself, get a 2nd or 3rd job to take care of your just owed debts!!!

Hi folks
We regret the unnecessary discussion taken place in this thread by the negative posters. It leaves us with no option but to ban the IP from where posts were coming up.
I will keep a check on this issue and ban the negative poster if he comes up with a new IP.
We highly apologize to all our community members on this unusual attack.

I received the same call today from the same person mentioned earlier in this post. Threatening to turn papers over to my employer. They asked for an ungodly amount for me to obtain in 2 hours, or their "automated" service would issue the papers to my company stating "embezzlement" using company resources. I, like the original poster, became worried and called the company to speak to them. I stated that I was willing to make payment arrangements to clear the debt with the company, as I have done with all the other payday loan companies out there. However, I was refused this option and actually called a "crook." I did take the advice to notify my employer of this issue. There reply will not be mentioned based on obvious reasons.
My question is how is this embezzlement when numerous individuals are caught up in financial strains that may cause repossession, loan defaults and the such. Would not all these cases be considered "embezzlement" in the general definition? How many financial transactions are utilized on work PCs, like making payment of bills? If your check payment bounces that creditor...does that not also constitute "embezzlement"?
I took the money out in good faith and have every intention to pay back to the creditor what I justly owe. Furthermore, I have not received correspondence from the company on the debt, otherwise I would have handled this early without this issue arising. My credit report does not reflect this debt nor does it show up on TeleTrack/Telecheck and to come out of the blue without prior attempts to settle this debt is disturbing. I am working to get a feasible amount to show good faith in my intentions to have this thing resolved quickly. This will hopefully end well and without further incident.

Moderatorstopper, you are a rude and demeaning son of a b!tch and your attack on Jessi was completely uncalled for! I'd delete your crap if it hadn't been responded to already. You have all the intelligence of my left cheek. You can't even spell "Moderator" properly and as far as your chosen screen name goes, you haven't stopped me! You're only doing this because you're a big fat loser with a small weener, admit it. I hope Ms. Rebecca West is better than Mr. Trent Bradley. I forgot to mention that he stated, while on speaker phone, that I hope this is not you that I am pulling up on my computer, because this is bad. Not to mention that when he originally called and left a message that he had important documents to give to me or my lawyer...which was never sent or mentioned once I contacted them. Anyway, I have mailed a letter requesting confirmation of the debt and all charges associated with it. Hopefully, I will get a return reply soon.

Again, I received a threatening call from law firm representing E Payday. I want to resolve this debt, but cannot contact anyone from the place. Does anyone know a website or phone number for them?

I was threatened by a 'law firm' again for E-Payday and Geneva Roth. 2 hours or else. I again will try to contact the company and settle this reasonably with a payment plan.
