Ok Moderators/Vikas/Etc.

Looks like the spammers are now registered members!!!!!

They've invaded.....

if I recall, I don't think there is anyting that prevents automated registrations. By using a buffer where you are displayed a series of letters or numbers you must enter, it should at least seriously slow down those trying to registed to post spam, and the same thing to sign in should also slow down those who are already registered that are trying to post spam.

I think an on screen authentication would be more effective.. email confirmation would still allow automated systems to gain at least temporary access ,and once registered they could come back time and a gain.by having to authenticate (beyond user id and password) each time it would prevent automated systems from logging into the site.. Yeas it would be a slight inconvenience for us, but I would rather do this one extra step, than have to sort through all the spams to get what I am looking for.

I wonder if it has something to do with the fact that this board shows up on google when you search for something? If you type in "payday loans" in google, you will run across this site, and across those posts from spammers. Maybe that makes it an easy target for spammers...i dunno. Just a thought!

The spammers target those sites which are highly in demand. In the major search engines, our website pops up when searched for most of the financial keywords related with debt, payday loan etc etc.

The spammers automate their software for all the major keywords and pick the top sites in the various search results. This way, they try to get publicity on the shoulder of good ones.
