Hi
Have you read the terms and conditions of the credit card company. Most of them are tucked with some hidden charges. You should review it thoroughly before accepting it. Also go through the charges and fees included with the card.
I will do some research on this company and let you know. Would you mind telling the location of this credit card company?

They used to be called Cross Country I never had problems with them until I couldn't pay the monthly payment because of the stupid PDLS taking my whole paycheck. They are now in consolidation program with T&C.
CROSS COUNTRY / APPLIED CARDS
They have all kinds of fees hidden i have a card with them for 2 years now cant seem to pay it down any when i start paying it down they come up with some kind of fee ,they were sued in 2004 by the trade commision for harrassing customers and familys etc.
Applied Bank Card
I have a card from them. My monthly payments have doubled recently and very little is applied to principal. Stay away from them.

They don't post payments on time sometimes. They also charge you $32 for overlimit fee which is usually not your fault. Don't get them. In fact, tear up the preapproval. They are the worst.

With these cards you have to be careful even if you don't use it as I was sent one and promptly called the 800 # and had it cancelled. When I pulled my CR this past summer there it was sitting out there with $176 in charges on it all their services fees, start up fees whatever so i had to dispute it to get it taken off my CR, so make sure you get the cancellation in writing.

Don't do it. They'll give you a credit line of $200 and then whack you with about $150 in "fees". Right of the bat, you are screwed. And now your $200 line of credit is just $50. Keep away from them.

awful company, if you get close to your limit expect bogus charges to put you over. My advice dont get it but if you do be prepared to sue them in small claims court

Just as bad as IPDLs, except legal. They buy your name and address from the credit bureaus "for meeting certain credit criteria." That criteria is, mainly, that you're a live person.
Applied Card, Tribute, First Premier... they all prey on people who have bad credit. The lure is that they give you a $300 limit "to establish your credit." But then they tack on $150 annual fee, and something around $11 monthly maintenance fee. If you equate it out, you end up paying about $250 in fees for a $50 available credit line. That equates to about 625% apr (except that is not what they disclose).
I figured it out, and if you make your minimum $20/monthly payments, you will owe them more at the end of the year then you did when you signed up; and then on day 1 of the second year, they would charge you another $150 annual fee.
Please do not get involved with these; it is not worth it to "rebuild" your credit.

Kyside, you should be able to cancel as long as you don't actually use it. When you get the card just do not activate it; and I think you need to send in a letter within 90 days saying you want to cancel (but read the membership terms).
I got one from Best Buy / HSBC - I swear to god I read the disclosures twice and didn't see anything about an annual fee, so I signed up. Used the card twice, and they charged me a $78 annual fee. I was about to write them a nasty letter, when I re-read the terms, and there it was underneath the apr, a $78 annual fee.
Since I already used the card I have to pay. But I am cancelling it as soon as I get my first statement.
Here was the fine print about cancelling:

Applied Card Bank
Just received this card yesterday. I overlooked the 10.95 fee,and now the 6.95 to pay on line for an automated data base that does the work for them. No Thankyou. I cancelled after reading these posts. Thanks so much for the heads up.
Good for you. I had a card with them, they gave me a $1000 limit
Good for you. I had a card with them, they gave me a $1000 limit but their fees were absolutely ridiculous. I couldn't afford to use the darn thing because of the payments I had to make them just for their fees. It really made me mad that I had to pay to pay online or by phone. I don't like to mail paper checks because you have no way of knowing when they apply it to your account, and they punish you if you want to pay it online.
my husband has this card. the fees are ridiculous. not to metion
my husband has this card. the fees are ridiculous. not to metion they charged us a 32 olf and we were below our limit i dont understand that. i have tried to call but they never seem to answer.he has an ok limit but we are going to pay it off and cancel it. 6.95 for online payments is crazy. he doesnt even need this card he has about 10 others like air tran union plus capitol one ect. so the sooner this is paid off the better.
