Anybody know who this is? :?

Has anyone dealt with Pentagroup Financial?

I think these people are crazy. They call my house asking for my neice that I see once a year. I asked how did they get my telephone and husbands name. They would not give me a answer. Wanted me to my give neice the information I told them I do not see her till Christmas did they want me to give it to her then? THey could even tell me why they where calling. I did not have her telephone number and dont call my house again.

All you have to do is ask for a fax number and fax over your evidence. A debt collection agency only has what their client or previous holder has given them. You fax over letters of settlement and it will be cleared up. without this info the process would continue

PentaGroup collects for Sprint/Nextel - they have an account of mine. They are very pushy and refuse to work with you regarding payments on the balance.

When I told them not to call me anymore and hung up, I got 5 calls from them in a row. The last one I answered, and I told them I was sending out a C/D letter and the lady laughed at me and said "You think that is going to stop us?" I told her that if it didn't, I would file Chapter 7 and they would get nothing.

She then threatened me, saying I could go to jail.....over not paying a cell phone bill? Puh...leaze!!!! I then laughed and told her the phone number to our police department and said I would be waiting for someone to come get me. I then hung up.

Haven't heard from them since.

I just received a call from them and I believe it is for my car note that I have trying to catch up on since now I have my job back. They called me from a 209-320-9686 and it says it is from Stockton, CA. I am very hesitant to call them back and speak with them because I am not sure if they are legit. What can I do to make sure that they are who they say they are?

i've dealt with some ugly collection agencies (ellis crosby, united legal) and this was the most professional experience I had.
I paid the debt, recieved a letter from Pentagroup Financial thanking me for my cooperation and all is well now.

bulls**t!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Has anyone been getting repeated calls for a relative from this co. I have, and I have asked them at least six times to quit calling my house as I owe them nothing. I am considering a class action lawsuit against them for harrassment and need to know if anyone would be interested in joining me in this lawsuit. This is the only way I know to stop the harrassing calls.
If so, e-mail me at ***************

In my opinion, a class action is a waste of time and resources here. That's assuming you could get an attorney to take it on as such.

By law, they are allowed to call you in an attempt to locate this relative. Once. They've now blown it.

Your most cost-effective option at this point is to mail them a cease-and-desist letter. Send it certified mail, return receipt requested. When the green postcard comes back, hang onto it for proof of when the letter was delivered.

If they continue to call after they get that letter, sue for violation of FDCPA. You can do that yourself, you don't need an attorney.

I just finished dealing with them. HSBC sold my loan to Vion. Penta was thier collection agency. They called and threatened me and said if I didn't pay they would take court action. I went to biddhibbs.com and used their letter to challenge the collection. Pentagroup never responded (they couldn't) and I am debt free!

I have been getting pentagroup financial automated calls for the past 4-6 months and it is getting annoying I called them up twice telling them to take my number off the list and today I was finally awake late enough to recieve a call at 11:00 pm and found out that they aren't asking for myself or a relative but some random person I don't even know and I heard previously in other calls numerous other names. But what bothers me the most is this is a cell phone that is not in the phone book is there anything I can do?

I had a car repoed from Toyota and the collection agency was PentaGroup. The total left on the car was over 4 grand, but they gave me a settlement amount for 2 grand. I payed $200 on it and told them to take the other 1400 out to finish off the bill on Jan. 31st of this year and they decided to take it out on the 26th. With only having $9 in my account, I got an overdraft charge through my bank since the check bounced and now I got a returned check fee from pentagroup. Little do they know I have the letter they sent me stating that they were going to take the money out on the 31st. They seem to want to work with you if you keep fighting them, but it sounds like they want to screw a lot of people over.

I would say get on whitepages.com and put the number in under the reverse lookup section they have. If it is a legit number, it will tell you the company and the address.

Sorry about not quoting it in my previous post.

these goons at pentagroup keep calling me and hanging up. finally i called the number back. their agent wouldn't give me their name or purpose, so i told her that i was tired of them calling me and hanging up, she started to badger me with a name of who she was looking for. she insisted that this person was me and declared that the calls WOULD NOT stop. I told her that it was harassment and i wasn't going to take it, she then had the nerve to tell me that i was harassing her because i called her. I'm now waiting to see if they do call back so i can file suit. In the meantime maybe i'll start calling them and hanging up...

I know them well. They are scam artist. They called me to talk about a settlement on a credit card I had. We reached an agreement set up payments then I didn't hear from them for a while so I called for proof I had paid, and he acted like he never talked to me about a settlement, He said I didn't get it in writing and started yelling at me. :(

These guys are just trying to get money illegally from you, which is why they refused to send you a letter in wriitng and they also refused to give me their fax number or address so that I could send my judgement proof letter to them. Bank of America is a huge corporation that uses illegal tactics to get as much money out of ppl as they can. they ought to be sued. they got so much money from the feds in the form of a bailout and now they have to nerve to try and pursue disabled persons on disability or fixed income knowing full well that they are breaking the law. the fact that they are based in Texas speaks volumes about the kind of operations that are allowed to exist in that state.
nothing but a bunch of renegade redneck criminals.
i really wish they would secede and gtfo of America.

If you are any kind of government assistance, you are judgement proof. They can't come after you so don't worry about it okay

They really pist me off today. Someone from this company called my home asking me about my neighbor, is this legal? Aren't they violating my right to privacy? She banged the phone when I answered that I don't know what she was talking about. The number that called is 1-832-615-2374.Tried calling them, it ringed once and that's it.What's happening to this country?

Yes. Most of these debt collection agencies buy your debt for pennies on the dollar and sometimes fractions of a penny on the dollar. If you have cash in hand to deal with you should be able to get it paid off at least at 50% of what they are stating. Many times you can get them to go lower. Just keep asking for a supervisor when the person says they don't have the authority to give you a better deal. If you don't have cash, you can still usually get at least 25% knocked off with a payment plan, and get low interest on that plan. Some companies will give you a deal at .99% interest over 60 months.:p

as far as debt collectors go they are very very professional. i had an outstanding MBNA bill. they called me and i was kind of rude with the guy trying to get him to verify things with me before i told him anything.he was very courteous, verified everything and then asked me to settle the account. i asked them to send me an email with an official document stating it would settle the account in full. He sent the letter while on the phone with me, waived processing fees for me and i settled the account. 30 days later it was listed as paid in full on my credit. Penta gets an A+ from me as far as debt collectors go.
